Things To Consider When Buying Hair Gel
Your first step in the process is determining which hair gel is right for you, it is also useful to have an idea when considering which gel to buy.
What type of hair you have is an important consideration before you buy a styling product. Whether you have curly, thin, coarse, fine or thick hair, choose a gel that is suitable for that type.
The ingredients list of a hair gel varies from brand to brand, but keep in mind that many of them contain alcohol.
Although alcohol often gets a bad rap, it also has some benefits for the hair – including that it works as an antibacterial agent.
Another type of alcohol – fatty alcohol – is not astringent, but instead helps to retain moisture on the skin surface. Moreover, they will improve the overall smoothness of your hair.
Many gels are soluble in water, making them easy to wash out of your hair and some contain antioxidants. Lanolin wax is another ingredient that you often find in gels, while some products contain artificial odors, which is not necessarily a good thing.
Hold & Shine
The grip of a product refers to the power to hold your hair in place.
gel with stronger firmness will put your style in place (set), so you probably won’t have to restyle it during the day when a few hairs get out of place, and how shiny your hair is after applying the gel am working on it.
Let’s continue with our reviews about hair gel.
10 Best Hair Gel For Boys 2020
these are the best hair products for little boys. There is much that is about making a good hair gel or pomade for children.
In addition to evaluating the level of retention, luster, odor, texture, and washability, we have reviewed customer reviews and reviews to provide you with this complete guide.
Little Roseberry is a high-quality hair gel for children of all ages, including baby hair and toddlers, and is made with all-natural ingredients, resulting in a solution that is free from parabens, sulfates, artificial fragrances, harsh chemicals, and toxins.
As a styling product made in the USA, this gel offers a light fixation that keeps your child’s hair looking natural and textured.
Moreover, parents and small boys will not suffer from dryness, greasiness or flaking.
The company has even made a special effort to include organic Aloe Vera and Witch Hazel in their formula, which both promotes healthy hair growth and prevent possible skin irritation on the scalp.
With an easy-to-use bottle and a locked spout to stop spillage and mess, Little Roseberry Hair Gel is our favorite product on the market. For messy hair or styles that require movement and flow, this option is worth the money.
Questions & Answers
Is it tested on animals?
Absolutely not! We love animals and do not support animal abuse or testing!
Is there a minimum age for using this on babies?
All our products are made with the safest ingredients. Works for children of all ages! From 0 to 99 years old 🙂
Does this condition the hair at all?
Our hair gel is intended to hold the hair in place. It does not act as a hair conditioner or leave in detangler. The ingredients found in our hair gel won't make any child's hair dry but it would for sure make their hair wonderful.
Is it tear free?
I do not know. It never comes to their eyes when I use it. It does a good job by keeping their hair in place.

This stuff works great. I use it to lean back my daughter's hair in an attempt to annoy my wife.
I purchased this product to manage unmanageable 10-month-old hair without exposing it to unsafe chemicals. Here are the pros and cons that I have found: PROS1. The product is holding its hair.2. Only a very small amount is needed.3. I am not worried about the fact that this is safe - it is clear without any particular odor (it smells like aloe). The product is in an easy-to-use bottle and the spout is locked, which prevents my son from making a sticky mess. The product can make his hair look stiff if too much is used. The product wears out quickly as it rolls around and rubs things against its head. For this reason I wear the gel in his diaper bag and it is easy enough to reapply. After a while we are back at con # 1. Overall, I am happy with our purchase. The product does its job. It is child safe. Because only a small amount is needed, the price is reasonable for the amount received. I would buy this product again.
This stuff is AWESOME. My baby is now 9 months old and I have probably been using it since she was 2 or 3 months old. She has a long piece of hair on top of her head, maybe 4-5 centimeters long. The rest of her thick black hair fell out, but that long piece remained. Now it has all become lighter again, but that piece is super long. I use this gel every morning, I comb it through and then wrap her hair around my finger. Hold it for a moment, slide my finger out and it curls perfectly. Curl stays in all day, even after herding, and she pulls. Ends so naturally that people think it's a natural curl. Not sticky or crispy. I will certainly order more, but it will last a long time. Use it for months and probably have more than half the bottle left. Thank you Little Roseberry!
Anchors Aweigh is another great company with the best children’s pomade on the market. Water-based, handmade and without chemicals, this natural hair pomade is perfect for styling all the coolest hairstyles your boy wants to try.
Made with medium to strong fixation and medium to a high gloss, this pomade keeps your boy’s hair smooth and in place all day. For this reason, we highly recommend it for little boys with thick hair who want to style smooth backs, pompadours, and combs. The best part is that, since it is water-based, mothers can simply apply a little water, restyle all day and wash easily at night.
Moreover, the scents of Bay Rum and Mint combine for a wonderful scent that lasts for a while but is not overwhelming. Finally, without petroleum, parabens, alcohols or other harsh chemicals, you can expect your hair to feel soft and smooth.
If you want to invest in an exceptional care product that will make your toddler look brave, the pomade is from Teddy Boy.
- Handmade and veteran in ownership
- Contains no petroleum, parabens, alcohol and propylene glycol
- Water-based for easier washing and restyling
Questions & Answers
I need a product that allows me to run my fingers through my hair. does this work for anyone with thick hair? If not what do you recommend?
This is perfect for that, it gives you a loose style that you have to go through almost every now and then. It is a very soft product, the thicker your hair, but the more you have to use. I really liked this product because of the type of style you get out of it.
Does this hold curly hair?
I'd say it won't happen. This is a light-medium hold pomade. It doesn't hold your hair in place all day. It will not curl and curl. I have to restyle my hair at least twice a day with TBO. I have wavy hair longer.
Does this have a bay rum scent/smell?
Not really a hint of vanilla anymore
I wanted to ask: is there a comb with this pomade?
No comb, but great product with a wonderful scent.

And I wondered why my hair would never do what I wanted and would be done by noon if I was lucky ... I like wire-like hair that doesn't exactly like it. Started with Anchor's Matte Wax, the one in the blue pot. That was great, this is even better. I love the mint scent and this stuff holds better than the wax. I put it in my hair at 6:30 this morning, it is now 9:50 at night and I can still pull a comb through it and style it again. Very light to the touch, you don't need much to make it work and it spreads very well in the hair. Was turned on in Anchor's products from The Pomp like many others I have written reviews about \\ high-end \\ pomades and waxes. Guy sure knows what he's talking about, this stuff is definitely great.
First, I have coins that are larger than this thing. But as long as you don't overdo it with the product, it will last a while. I also do not use this exclusively, so it lasts a little longer. Smells good. Kind of fruity ... kind of. But I did not get any odor from laurel here. Hold is also reasonable. Def. a product that allows you to shape your hair and do things with it all day long. I tend to use this when my hair is longer so I can get the following: \\ Oh, I didn't see my hair flowing in my face, just let me lean back very quickly. \\ And then women go crazy.
My husband really likes this product. It has thin, fine, straight, black hair and the product offers a good grip without the stiff feeling. He also has no oil, but will get some pimples if he doesn't wash it off his hairline. This small pot lasted more than a year and we are finally ordering a new one. I really enjoy the smell of this product. Ryan the seller has great customer service. My order was sent on time and arrived when and as expected, except that my husband did not like the large white sticker on the lid. I received an email from him when submitting my order and another after to check if I received my order and to review (I wish more sellers did this).
Fairy Tales has developed a clinically proven styling product that also helps prevent lice. With a patented mix of organic ingredients such as rosemary, citronella, peppermint, tea tree oil, lavender, and geranium oil, this formula ensures that your child does not get head lice at daycare or school. The nice thing is that the company has soaked this gel with other vitamins, minerals and moisturizers such as jojoba, aloe, and chamomile to hydrate, condition and soothe your boy’s hair and skin.
With a light to medium hold and glossy finish, it will style your child’s hair and make it pointed or smooth for hours. Moreover, it leaves no stickiness or excess fat behind, resulting in a natural texture. And it smells great for both children and parents, even for those who are sensitive to strong odors.
Ultimately, parents love this product because it is extremely child-friendly and effective. As gluten, soy, dairy and nut-free recipe that does not use parabens, sulfates, harsh chemicals or toxins, this hair styling gel are one of the top-rated products on the market.
- It is clinically proven to help prevent lice and is gentle enough for daily care for children and adults
- Free from parabens, sulfates, harsh chemicals and toxins. Gluten, soy, dairy, and nut-free
- Own blend of organic rosemary, citronella, peppermint, lavender, tea tree, and geranium oil helps prevent lice

What frequency have u guys found effective for prevention of lice? daily or something else ?
My daughter uses it 2-3 times a week, which is enough for lice prevention for us. But it smells great and there is no reason not to use it more often.
Am I supposed to use every day?
For maximum protection, this is our daily shampoo with our children. It is not hard at all and in combination with a good conditioner we have had no problems drying out or damaging their hair.
Can I use it for a second grad girl? Does it really help to remove the lices?
Yes, you can use it on a young girl. My daughter was in first class when she got the bugs in her hair. Let me tell you that this will not remove lice from her hair if she already has insects. You have to remove it from her hair and all the eggs that they lay with a lice comb or a device called Robicomb. My child did not respond so well to the RID formulas on the market. I know this sounds strange, but I heard about a method to remove the bugs and used it instead. I bought a jar of pure mayonnaise (Kraft is what I used) and bought a shower cap that would match my daughters' hair. I foamed her hair with the mayo until ALL her hair was completely covered to the root and then I placed the shower cap over it. I let her hold on to this as long as possible to choke the insects. Note that the mayo starts to become warm because it may leak out of the shower cover and puncture her eyes. I killed most bugs by heart with this method than any other thing I tried. The longer your girl can leave, the better. I let my daughter hold it for about an hour. It will really stink and you'll have to wash her hair a lot to get out of the mayo, but it worked better than the chemicals. My fear that my daughter would get bugs again led me to this product and so far I have usually used it during the school season and since then we have not had any more bugs. Use it with the hair spray to repel as much as possible. This product hates (the insects do not like tea tree oil), but does not remove them if your child already has them. It has an unusual odor but even with my allergies I have no problem with it. I can only recommend this to keep them away, because it worked for my daughter. Note: I also spray her backpack and the caps of her coats with the hair spray to prevent them from traveling home. I really hope this helps you in one way or another.

We have not had a problem with lice since we started using Fairly Tales Shampoo. After several outbreaks in my children's school, I did a lot of research into lice and lice prevention. If you are at a loss and go over the line-up of your family and she shaves like a sheep heard, read on ... Here's what I've found to work for me: Personal experience - My children are now 8 and 10. I treated lice twice (once when my daughter was 5 (with a repeat two weeks later) and once when she was 7. The second time I learned a new tactic that prevented a repeat (daily combing with a lice) comb for three weeks.) Last school year I added daily doses of prevention spray to the mix. I have also added tea tree oil to everything! Both children are fed up with the smell of tea tree oil! Lice don't care what kind of house we live in, our economic status, our level of hygiene, etc ... In fact, lice actually prefer clean hair because they can move more freely. While we cannot prevent ourselves from being exposed to lice, there are some simple and effective steps that we can take to prevent constant outbreaks and recurrences in our families and classrooms. 1. Buy a professional lice comb and nit comb Most professionals use and recommend the Nit Free Terminator lice comb (available on Amazon). There are others available, but it is the top rated nit and lice comb out there. Use your lice comb weekly and all year round, regardless of whether you see lice or nits. According to lice professionals, this is the most important prevention technique we can ever do, because it is extremely easy to miss lice and nits, especially if there is an outbreak If your child has been near someone with lice or there is a known outbreak on school, you push your combs up to two or three times a week to catch early infections (Note: when I say combs, I always refer to using a steel comb with nit and lice). If your child gets lice quickly and there are known outbreaks, beat the combs daily until the outbreaks have completely disappeared. If your child has just been treated for lice, it is extremely important to: - Do combing daily for at least two weeks after treatment. One of the reasons for this is that lice leave a 'sent' that attracts more lice. Even if you have missed nits, you have a new case of lice and combing daily catches things early. Reinfestation is very common during a few weeks after initial treatment has been done. -After two weeks, if nits and / or lice are not found during combing for at least two consecutive days, you can go to two or three times a week and then once a week for maintenance if there is no response within the month infections occur. Use prevention products such as the Fairy Tales Line, Licelogic (both on Amazon) You can also make your own prevention spray by adding tea tree oil (5 drops to 1 ounce) to the shampoo, conditioner, detangler and hair spray for your children. Spray your children's hair just before school or an event where they will be with other children. Let girls wear their hair in a bun or in a tight braid during a known outbreak. Talk to your children about the importance of not sharing brushes, hats or other hair accessories. Increase your prevention tactics (combing, shampoo, spray treatment, etc.) ..) immediately after children have returned to school after each break (summer, Christmas, spring, etc ..) Increase your prevention efforts after travel, vacation, sleepovers, camps , visits from cousins or a new group to which your children will be exposed.More Information about combing Spending time and energy on combing carefully and thoroughly is a much better method than weekly main checks alone. It is very important to learn how to use the lice comb correctly, so it is effective in removing all nits and lice. A short video that I found useful is from the Lice Control company. The most important thing to remember about effective combing is to divide the hair into small sections and comb each section from all directions. This means that you comb it from top to bottom, from bottom to top, from right to left and from left to right. Make sure that the ends of the comb remain on the scalp throughout the section before you pull the hair through the comb. Main checks Note: Again, I want to point out that it is important to know how to perform a thorough main check, but the current thinking is that combing with a lice comb is much more important than just checking. That said, it's still important to know how to perform thorough checks. When a child is sent home with lice, many parents will say that they have just done a lice check and are shocked to hear that the lice are in full party mode on hearing their child. The truth is that they probably missed the early signs a few days earlier. Unless a child has an advanced case of lice, the chance of actually seeing lice or nits with a 30-second head check is rare. A careful lice check takes a few minutes or more, depending on the length and thickness of the hair. As a result, it is not possible for teachers to take a time out in the school timetable to do thorough lice checks. Usually teachers will perform checks if there is a known outbreak in the classroom, but parents must be the ones who take prevention seriously because there is so much that a school can do. The best place to do a main check is outside in bright sunlight. Use a spotlight if that is not possible. I usually let my daughter lay her head on a table, divide her hair in the middle and divide it into sections. Then I go through each section with the help of a comb with a rat's tail and I always examine a wafer-thin row. This takes me 5 to 10 minutes, but she has long, thick hair. My son has short, fine hair, so it only takes me a few minutes to go through his hair. On average, careful lice control can be done in just a few minutes if you know what you are looking for. Nits - are attached to one side of a single piece of hair near the scalp. They are approximately the size of a poppy seed (or smaller) and have an oval shape. They vary in color from white (already released) to yellow, brown, brown or dark brown. It is very easy to confuse sand, dirt, dry skin or other things caught in the hair with nits. Remember that nits are always \\ glued to a single piece of hair, therefore they will not move easily. Lice (are about the size of a sesame seed but can vary in color and different shades (light or dark) brown, yellow, brown or reddish. They also vary in size depending on where in their life cycle. The pesticide-based products ( such as Rid and Nix) are no longer effective. The professionals now use enzymes-based products for their initial treatment (available with all the product lines I mentioned above) Some people have found that coconut oil or olive oil treatments mixed with tea tree oil is very effective in killing the lice (not the nits) .This method involves saturating your child's hair with the mixture and working through the hair, cover it with a plastic cap and sleep in it.The most important part of the treatment of lice (regardless of your initial treatment method) is to learn to use your lice comb correctly and to comb every day for two to three weeks. not be diligent with omitting C, you will probably have constant recurrences. This is an area where five minutes of prevention every day can save hours in dealing with a pest. -
We survived an outbreak of lice at school by using this product daily as a detangler, and I've been using it ever since. My children have extremely long hair, ranging from style to very curly. This works on all of them, both for disentanglement and lice prevention. The scent is delicious, clean and subtle without the musk of some essential oils. We have re-ordered and re-ordered, it is a staple in our house, two of my friends are now using it for their children after experimenting with our stock. spray cover works so well, I have reused it for other products that do not spray well enough. Sending has always been perfect, it arrives exactly as expected, is tightly packed and filled up and no bottle has leaked. Try it! You will not be disappointed.
We have gone through a terrible period with lice. I would treat my little girl with the insecticide that the doctor recommended and which I thought was horrible to use. Then spend an hour with the nit comb doing our very best and see the dreaded little black bugs a week later. Every Saturday evening this went on for a month. I finally ordered the Fairy Tales lice treatment package (available separately), spent the hour combing with a much better nit comb that was included with the kit. Then we sprayed the conditioning spray before school every morning and washed her hair 2-3 times a week with the Rosemary Repel shampoo. I have yet to see a bug since the switch. Moreover, it smells good. I wish I would have found this stuff before submitting myself and my little girl to so much medically recommended insecticide.

If you are a dance mother, this must be in your arsenal! Has such a great hold (just warm product by rubbing it in your hands before you apply it). My girl danced her heart and it never fell. Has a nice blueberry scent that I really liked. I really love this product !!
We love this stuff! That's right, well enough ... I mean, these are kids running around and jumping around and don't care if their hair breaks. It does the job for my fine sun hair. We style it in the morning and after a tiring day of playing at the daycare, it is a mess when he comes home, but on other days it really helps to keep the hair out of his face.
I am looking for a product like this, my son has thin straight hair (Asian hair) and this works great. It is super easy to use, smells great and small enough to carry in my bag when I need to update Normally we would use gel, but Hip Peas does NOT leave flakes or makes his hair stiff. I will buy this again and recommend it to moms who have boys with similar hair types.
Original Sprout has a solid reputation as good hair care and styling product. Especially an anti-frizzy hair gel with a light to medium hold, this option works well for styles that need structured, natural-looking hair. From a long comb to a messy bed head to a long haircut, this gel will style your boy’s hairdo beautifully.
It also helps that this natural hair gel is hypoallergenic, with no ingredients for soy, strawberry, gluten or peanuts or dairy products. Babies and young boys with sensitive skin can use this product to hydrate, care for and soften their hair and scalp.
Questions & Answers
What are the ingredients?
Important informationIngredients Aqua water with extracts of organic Rosmarinus Officinalis (rosemary) leaf, organic (Arnica) Montana flower, organic Cucumis Sativus (cucumber) fruit, organic (Calendula) Officinalis flower, organic Vaccinium Macrocarpon (cranberry) fruit, vegetable glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) oil, Extracts of Pyrus Malus (apple) Fruit, Prunus Armeniaca (apricot) Fruit, (vanilla) Planifolia fruit, Dipteryx Odorata seed, Pineapple Sativus (pineapple) Fruit, Cocos Nucifera (coconut), Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit, Cinnamidopropyltrimonium chloride, Sodium phylate, Sodium hydroxide, Caprylhydroxamic acid, Caprylyl Glycol.
What's the difference betwen the styling balm and the hair gel?
The main ingredient in balm is shea butter, so it looks more like a soft styling wax. Gel is less greasy / waxy, keeps very light but ensures a good smooth texture in the hair.
Is it hypoalergenic?
The package does not contain hypoallergenic (but no parabens, nanoparticles, laventer tea tree, petroleum, musk, propylene glycol, sulfates, gluten, soy or dairy products, so that would cover many allergens). Go to www.originalsprout.com and you can see all the ingredients (go to the OVER toolbar and click on ingredients. Right in the middle you see the hair gel and click on it). That would tell you if you are concerned about an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients.
Is this safe if used around the eyes? I'm looking for a hair gel that will keep my Shih-Tzu's facial hair out of his eyes while it's growing out.
I am not a veterinarian, so I cannot speak as a professional. However, they are all natural ingredients and can be used with babies, so I am sure it is fine to use with dogs. I just wouldn't get it in the eyes of your dog if you can help it. I'm sure it would still poke.

Someone asked for the ingredient list. Attached is a photo. This product works great for my baby. It holds well and does not flake. He has medium thick hair, if his hair was much thicker, I am not sure if it would stay too good.
I use this every day on my short daughters fine hair to keep it out of her face. Great for flyaways too. It doesn't take much to get the job done. Using too much can give her hair a kind of gummy feeling. One tube will last a long time.
This is a great hair gel. I have very long, fine, straight blond hair and I need a very light gel to help with frizz. This gel is perfect! It never aggravates my hair or makes my hair crunchy or stiff like so many gels in the past. I have never had a problem with flaking like others, but that may be because my hair has such a light blonde color that I could not see them anyway. I understand why some people don't like this gel because it doesn't hold well, but that's why I like it so much! I hope this product will never be discontinued !!
We bought this after seeing it, recommended by Princess Kate. We love that it is natural, because we try to use as many natural products as possible. It smells good, but I have noticed that if we use too much, it can look like. It helps to tame hair, but with a wild boy I can't say it takes all day.
SoCozy Styling Foam has been dermatologically tested and developed for babies and children with a sensitive scalp. The brand’s own mix is hypoallergenic and made without parabens, sulfates, formaldehyde, phthalates, artificial colors, gluten, wheat or nuts. Instead, the formula works as an intense moisturizer and conditioner to restore normal sebum production and restore the correct pH balance.
If that wasn’t enough, the product will eventually stop drying and flaking. it is inflammation and itching and makes your boy’s hair soft and supple. Soft but powerful, the natural hold is ideal for a cute comb-over, tousled top or naturally curly hairstyle.
Although you cannot style your baby boy’s hair in a mohawk or pointed style, the benefits of a healthy scalp far outweigh all other aesthetic factors.
As one of the best baby hair products currently available on the market, you can’t go wrong with SoCozy.
- Infused with its own ingredient mix, it adds softness and resilience without the added build-up that causes flaking, dryness, inflammation or itching.
- Specially formulated for children with a sensitive scalp and safe enough for daily use
- Rose Bay Extract: delivers intense moisture and creates a healthy scalp environment by normalizing the sebum production, optimizing the pH and restoring the moisture balance

I love this stuff! My 6 month old son's hair got too long to leave it, but I wasn't quite ready to cut it. A little water and this foam is absolutely perfect for styling his hair! A little goes a long way and it holds on all day, but still brushes nicely and does not require daily washing to get it out of his hair. this on him daily and it has not caused any problems on his sensitive skin!
This stuff really works. I have had seborrheic dermatitis for about 6-7 years and am now 25. It started soon after I had stopped permeating my hair. The perms have completely damaged my scalp and since then I have suffered from a dry, flaky scalp that is painful and itchy all the time. I have come to the conclusion that oils simply irritate my scalp and I have even tried jojoba oil that presumes to mimic the sebum you produce on your scalp, and that didn't work. I was looking for something that was oil-free and would leave my scalp hydrated. Although this is marketed for children, the sensitive scalp serum makes my scalp feel light and hydrated. I give it 4 stars because I still get a little itch, but no giant flakes! I have not had much relief in years !!
I bought this for my 15 month old son to keep his hair \\ sideways. As the other reviews say, the product smells great! The level of holding is exactly what I was looking for, because I didn't want his hair to be crunchy or smooth. It takes about half a day, and even if it starts to fall, his hair stays out of his eyes until the end of the day.
I have seborrheic dermatitis and it was a struggle to find a detangler for my curly hair that doesn't irritate my scalp or make it greasy and flaky. This has been a life saver for me! It has really calmed my scalp and I never have to worry that it will make my hair heavier or greasy. I will say that it works best on wet hair instead of dry, so that is something to consider if you do not comb wet hair. In general, I definitely recommend this for sensitive and / or problematic scalp, and I hope it never stopped!
Shea Moisture is really a brand that uses only the highest quality ingredients. As one of the best care products for children, it not only moisturizes, nourishes and nourishes hair with organic shea butter, coconut oil and hibiscus flower extracts, it also helps shape and define hairstyles for a clean finish. Shea Moisture may not have the average or strong grasp of these other products, but if you have a baby boy with curly hair and want to define resilient curls, this is the right choice for you!
Great for little boys with unmanageably thick, wavy and curly hair, spray it on to remove tangles, eliminate frizz, repair dull strands and let go of a beautiful, shiny look. Moreover, natural ingredients make it safe for your child’s hair and scalp. For best results apply to towel-dried hair.
If you are not yet ready to style your toddler’s hair in a structured look and want him to keep his cute baby-friendliness and innocence a bit longer, then this product fits perfectly.
- FRIZZ FIGHT AGAINST DETANGLER (Natural elements such as coconut, hibiscus, smooth elm, and marshmallow extract Remove tangles and give locks Brilliant shine and definition

Questions & Answers
Can this product be used on dry hair?
Hello! YES!!! we use this every day for dry hair. I call this product \\ the game changer! \\ Because it has changed our lives with my six year old daughter. I have recommended this to every friend and they feel the same. enjoy the product ... smells great too
The ingredients list "essential oil blend." That is very vague. What are the essential oils used?
Coconut oil, algae extract, hibiscus extract, sage leaf extract, smooth elm extract, all organic
Does this product leave a film on the hair? My daughter's hair is thick and course and I need a detangler without that greasy residue left behind.
I use this as the end product in my son's hair routine ... his hair is tightly curled and dries out easily. This has been a great product for us - if it dries, I think it will put the other products \\. When I only use the SeeaMoisture children to disentangle after water, it doesn't seem greasy to me, although if he leans on something before it dries, it will leave a mark. We love this product!
Is it ok for adults to use this even though its for kids or would you recommend the regular she butter detangler for adults?
I can't imagine it matters. The scent is nice, it's not like chewing gum or something aimed at children. It is a nice, light coconut scent. I didn't try it myself, but my daughter is 12 so not a little bit and she has tons of long hair. More hair than I have. I would say, like everything else, start with a little and increase if necessary. Like I said, I didn't try it, but I love it for my daughter. If / when I need a detangler, I will not hesitate to use it for myself. It is awesome!!!

I have two biracial children. My daughter has blond half curly hair and my son looks a lot like me with thick brown super curly hair. This detangler is absolutely the best for their hair type! It smells great, leaves a very subtle shine that makes my son's hair look dry, and best of all, it leaves no coarse residue in their hair like other brands have. Because I was so successful with my children, I started to buy these products for myself (I am half-white and black and I am having trouble finding good hair products because of the mixed chemistry of my hair type). I absolutely love this brand and will continue to buy for our entire family!
My daughter introduced me to this hair cream. The hair around my temples breaks off. It has been breaking down for years. Not since I started using this. I also use it the night before I color my hair. I use this stuff on my skin! The only thing I can say is wow! I have long straight, fine flowing hair. This stuff tames it. I will order it again and I would even order this as a gift. I don't like to put goop in my hair. That's probably why it breaks and looks like it flies away. This stuff is easily peasy. Simply spray it on and brush it in or don't brush it in. This is now on my list of must-haves for my hair. Ten stars.
My oldest daughter has long, fine, straight hair. It has the ability to get caught epic after a day of play. This stuff works wonders to keep her hair soft and shiny. The scent is delicious and does not last long, which is nice because we do not like scented beauty products. We have tried other detanglers (Original Sprout had too many weird ingredients and the smell was too powerful - CA Baby detangler did not help detangling) and no one worked as well as this for long hair. Good stuff. I definitely recommend it. I even like to use it in my hair when I need a quick little solution to make my fine, straight hair work together. The ingredients are all easily recognizable. If we hadn't found the awesome and amazing Apple Valley shampoos for our hair, I would even consider the Shea Moisture shampoos, but we really do our best to reduce the use of plastic bottles and soaps that work well in that department.
Oh my !!! This stuff is a miracle worker !! I have searched and used so many products on my toddlers, very spiral curly hair that can only knot from a sneeze. This spray has removed the knots in just a few minutes! We use it in combination with the brush for convenience and it works wonders !! So happy! It is not there to wash it out, but we usually do it on dry hair, then brush it in overnight. We also washed it away and it didn't seem to make a big difference.

The hair gel works great. It smells nice and has a good hold.

ok so i used murrays. You know that stuff that never flushes away. but works great if you just want to swallow your hair or lick cows. and if it gets stuck, just comb it back into place. but it never flushes out. so i did some research and found suavecito. chose the company because I have thick, thread-like hair that is extremely difficult to manage. the suavecito goes thick. as a good strong pomade would do. also very nicely combed. dried to a firm, not crispy, hold. if it gets confused, I just spray some water in it and comb it back into shape. and when i shower. IT WAS ALL OUT. love this stuff. tames my mane and leaves whenever I want.
Can we have a national conversation about the scent? This is a barber shop with expensive Cologne hit by a falling pine tree. Sometimes, to be honest, I just stand there and smell it. The grip on my half-long, frizzy hair / thick / wavy hair was positively fit and resembles Jurassic-era amber tree resin. A very pleasant product. Made in the USA. Highly recommended for thick, wavy, but \\ puffy \\ hair. And this product is not just for the boys. If you are a woman and want to look like \\ Roxy \\ in Basic Instinct, this product is for you. I sometimes mix it with American Crew Fiber for extra flexibility and finger comb restyle here in humid Austin, TX, but this product is fine in itself.
I am absolutely blown away ... I have tried countless different related products ranging from $ 3 to $ 30, but this is by far the best. This is the best product of its kind in all respects, shapes and forms. I am a total hot box, I radiate heat like crazy and I sweat profusely, that's why hair products don't last long in my hair. I am lucky that a product keeps my hair in place for more than 20 minutes (no joke). In my best effort to find something that would really work for me, I did countless hours of research to finally come to the conclusion that this was for me ... and boy was I right. I have zero complaints. It goes so easily into the hair, it spreads so evenly, it turns on the perfect firmness and texture, and most important of all ... it lasts all day! Which says a lot about myself. Stop looking around, this is the product you want, I promise. Nothing else even comes close. The photo was taken after a long, hot, windy day.

I bought this pomade, looking for a water-based pomade with a firm hold. I have thick hair and usually wear it in an undercut, with the top pushed to the side (i.e., need a strong grip to make it work together). The good news is that this pomade does that beautifully. In fact, I really like what the room looks like. However, that is the only thing that I like. In my opinion the pomade dries too \\ hard \\. It feels way too much like a gel, which is the whole reason that I grab the pomade * instead of a gel. That in itself is not a dealbreaker. In fact, if this was my entire review here, I would give it 4/5 stars and wear it to work tomorrow. But I am not, and here is why: the smell is MUCH too strong. Gentlemen, you don't want to get your smell from what you wear in your hair. Especially if it is a strong odor. Ideally, that is what cologne is for, and you wear it * under * your clothing for a reason (i.e., the effect of body heat, etc.). If you want to know why, this stuff is a classic example. Although the smell is not bad at the first smell, it gets nauseous during the day. What's worse, it's on your hair - you can't cover it or get rid of it. I literally smelled this pomade all day long - even my Cologne doesn't. They have carried the scent far too far and it makes this stuff almost unbearable for daily use. T1; Although the performance of this product is top class, the scent is simply too overwhelming to make it viable as a daily care product. If you want my advice, pass it on and find something similar with less or no odor.

Questions & Answers
Can you wash this only with water or you need to use shampoo?
It washes out with quite a bit of water so I would suggest a mild shampoo if you use a significant amount of this product in your hair. As an alternative, you can skip the shampoo and use conditioner on damp hair with a rinse after to clean most if not all of it out. I have thinning hair myself and have found this alternative to work quite well instead of using shampoo every day which strips your hair to some degree.
I have thick wavy medium length hair. Will this work to keep it back?
I don't think so.
I want a soft natural hair feel that doesnt feel greasy or stiff. At the same time i have thick wavy hair that needs control. Is this right for me?
Hi Eman! Yes, I think this product would be a great fit for your hair type. I have been told from customers that the forming cream is a great option for those with thick and/or long hair as it easily glides through this hair type (compared to some of the other Crew products) without becoming too clumpy or stiff. Please let me know if you have any other questions and I'd be happy to assist you. Thank you!
Out of curiousity, has anyone else had issues with this and other American Crew products causing rashes on their scalp?
No lol maybe you are allergic to something in the product? I have been using it for a year without problems

Finally, what hair cream I can tolerate. I can't tell you how many different creams, gels, pastes and pomades I have experienced to find a hair product that makes me not look like I just got out of a swimming pool or wind up on Donald Trump in a windy way. In essence, it has been a choice between firm yet wet-looking gels or natural-looking pastes that have no hold. Fortunately this cream does both incredibly well. Not only does it look dull, but it holds my hair so immovably that Thor would have a hard time messing it up. Needless to say, this may be the first hair product I can actually continue to use.

I have never used this type of product before. I usually blow dry my hair and hope for the best. However, I now shower almost daily in the gym and have no access to a hair dryer. I don't like sprays and gels because they make me look like a Wall Street mogul or the son of the current POTUS. After my shower I dry my hair with a towel and rub a SMALL amount of it in my hair and spread it with my hands and then with a brush. I brush my hair back and it stays like this every hour. After the hair has dried, it becomes softer, but it still has a noticeable weight or volume. It looks good most of the day. My only complaint is that when I wake up in the morning, I have to tolerate my wife's quacks over my morning hair. A damp brush usually looks good again, until my next shower. I love this stuff!
Pros: + Works well in high summers (30-40˚ C) + Works well in cold winters (-10-0˚ C) Note: you must warm it up before you use it when it is cold, I take something in my hand and blow it + Gets my school day without giving in + Second day hair looks great with this product, third day, not so much + Smells great + Works well for long (\\ u003e 5 inch) hair + Will your hair in a changing conversation piece + ensures that you like itCons: - Must use a lot for long hair, last 3-4 weeks per container - Slightly expensive compared to other products- Does not look good with short hair (\\ u003c3 inch) - Requires different style methods depending on room temperature - Other men will not stop to ask you how you get such great hair Edits: updated pros and cons after more experience, photos / video added
Hair Gel VS Pomade VS Cream
Gel VS. Pomade
Like gel, pomade offers a firm grip that is stronger than many other styling products, and many of today’s best brands are water-based to create a lightweight, soft texture that is easy to wash out.
Some pomades are oil-based and offer a more firm hold than water-based products, as well as a higher gloss. But, as you would expect, oil-based pomades are harder to wash out and not so easy to restyle during the day.
Pomades are useful for achieving a variety of popular styles, including the pompadour, quiff, and lean back. However, some pomades have a more matte finish, which usually works better for hairstyles worn in professional environments. Anyway, pomades have different positions.
Gel VS. Cream
Cream differs from gel and pomade in that it offers a low hold without so much stiffness or greasiness. Hair cream has a medium shine that many believe is more natural than other styling products.
A cream is a good option for men with thinner or fine hair who don’t want to use pomade or wax. It is lightweight, so it can feel like you are not wearing a product at all. Creams also vary in texture somewhere between lightweight lotions and those with a waxy consistency.
Styling Your Boy’s Hair
Learning how to style your boy’s hair can be a challenge for mothers. Your first instinct is to be super gentle and not to use too much product.
Whether you want to gel your little boy’s hair, style bed heads or tame baby hair without a hair spray, here is a step-by-step guide for styling the best hairstyles for toddler boys.
- Start with towel-dried hair. If you wash your children at night and struggle with a messy head, apply water and dry gently, most hair products go best with slightly damp hair.
- Depending on how short, long or thick your toddler’s hair is, make a nickel-high amount of your favorite styling product, rub your hands and fingers together to warm it up and spread it.
- Apply the hair product to his hair. Look ahead with your child, start with the front, put your hands and fingers through his hair, make sure you cover all parts, from root to tip, for maximum control.
- Start styling the hair now. You may want to use a brush or comb for a neat, tight haircut, otherwise, your fingers are better for a textured finish.
- Finally, you can repair loose hair or minimize frizz with more products in specific areas. A little hair spray or a hairdryer on low heat can provide extra support for the final look.
With so many stylish hairstyles for baby boys, choosing your favorite can be a challenge.
Fortunately, your toddler’s hair is constantly growing, giving you the chance to experiment with the best hairstyles and choose the best hair gel for boys.
As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions.
Do you have a favorite hair gel? If so, why do you like it? Have you tried one of the gels on our list? We would love to hear from you.
