We have decided to make your search easier by browsing through the many options and choosing the ten best mustache waxes products for your facial hair. Let’s see.
What To Consider Before Buying A Mustache Wax
If you want to weigh your options for buying a mustache, there are a few things to consider:
- Strength: you want to decipher how much hold you need, and you can choose accordingly. Longer mustaches or people with coarser (read: unmanageable) facial hair require a stronger grip. For guys with more beautiful hair, a light grip works fine. However, if you want to curl your mustache ends into tendrils, you need a maximum holding capacity.
- Smell: Whether a wax emits a strong or a mild fragrance, you will want to choose something that you can live with every day. With the scent right under your nose, you want something that does not smell so strong that it engulfs the smell of your homemade lunch.
- Quality of ingredients: as with every facial hair product, quality is central. Make sure you get a wax that is more than just giving strength. Your stache looks as good as health allows.
- Color: believe it or not, some sporades offer color to get gray hair out of the picture. Make sure you know what your wax is made of and how it will affect your hair.

Questions & Answers
Is this product Cruelty Free?
Hello,I cannot say with 100% certainty that all our waxes, oils, balms are completely cruelty free, but I can offer my knowledge of the products and industry to let you know why I believe that they are cruelty free. The only animal product that we use is USP Lanolin. The USP stands for United States Pharmacopeial Convention which sets the highest standards for medicines, food ingredients, and supplements in the US.âLanolin is produced by washing the sheep's wool in hot water and using a unique detergent to remove anything trapped in the wool, such as dirt or sweat salts. It may also be extracted by using rollers to squeeze the sheep's wool to remove the oil. Bulk Lanolin is a popular product used in personal care, cosmetic and industrial applications.â From our vendor websiteIt also states that our source only uses Merino wool for the particular lanolin that we buy and after researching what I believed to be true. âMerino need to be shorn at least once a year because their wool does not stop growing. If the coat is allowed to grow, it can cause heat stress, mobility issues, and blindness.âSo, the reason why I believe it is cruelty free is because the lanolin is extracted from wool that has already been shorn, a process that is necessary for the health of the animals. In line with a quote above, lanolin is a safe and natural byproduct that comes from the washing of sheared wool.As for our employees, we treat them very well with health insurance, food, and even clothing so we are most certainly cruelty free in that aspect ; )
How do I apply the stuff? I'm new at this face fur stuff.
It depends on what you are trying to do. I use this to keep it out of my mouth daily. This is what I do: 1) Warm it up! Soak it in hot water for a few minutes or use a hair dryer. I resisted the use of the hair dryer for a long time, but it is a huge time saver and really helps.2) Use your miniature to do a small amount of bulldozer, I usually do about 1/2 pea at a time.3) mustache starts in the middle and works 1 side at a time, you have to work quickly before it cools and hardens, if it gets hard, use the hair dryer to soften it so that it spreads. I usually use about (3) 1/2 pea slicers per side. As soon as it cools and hardens, your stach will survive almost everything, I spent a whole day in and out of the water in the Caribbean without her in my mouth.
How much product is in the can - a gram? a teaspoon? a mouth-full? an ounce? Thank you.
The tin ssys 21G that I assume means 21 grams.
Why does this smell like an ashtray ,it is off-putting? The yellowish wax shows in my White handlebar mustache.
Mine smells delicious. I also use a blow dryer to warm it up. Color does not show on my mostly white salt and pepper beard/ mustache.

This is the best mustache wax I've owned. I've tried Clubman's, Fisticuffs, and Firehouse Wacky Tacky (my second favorite so far), but this wax provides the best hold thus far. You'll need to warm it up to get it out of the can, but once it's warm enough to blend into the stache, it works wonders. This stuff holds all day. My mustache has never looked better.**Update- I reviewed this product about 9 months after growing my mustache. Now, about 2 years later (take a couple months), I just want to say that this is still the best wax I've used. With longer tips, Clubman's wax holds better and so does Firehouse's Wacky Tacky, but neither of them provide the "all day" hold I'm looking for. I'm now on my second tin of Secondary and it is the best grooming product I've owned. Once dried into the 'stache,, my curls literally feel like plastic. "Plastic Hair" doesn't sound all that great, but this is the kind of plastic that doesn't warp after an afternoon of yard work in Florida. I've achieved the best natural look by applying a good amount of wax in the middle and a small amount on the tips and I've pulled off the curls by applying a good amount to the ends. Keep this stuff on you (in your pockets)... keys, wallet, cell phone, wax... they are my entourage.
Earlier I left a bad product review and I wanted to make an update of my previous post. I apologize to this wonderful company. In my first order I received the "secondary" can, which is very thick and difficult to manage and I struggled to figure out how to use the product. This company contacted me with concerns about my product review (I greatly appreciated this) and offered to resolve the issue. They sent me the "primary" can of the original wax and it works perfectly. I should have ordered this in the first place, the can was free. I have to say, I am very satisfied with this product. I would also like to thank for the "guitar" bite. I did not receive one in my first order. It makes it easy to take off and apply wax, it has made a difference. There is a learning curve and I didn't know how to use my first can. This is a great product.

You could fight ten grizzly bears, while skydiving, in the middle of a hurricane, and your stache won't move an inch with Secondary Wax. I know from experience. I've been growing my beard out for three months so far, and even though I've trimmed it a few times, I've not touched my mustache once. In that time I bought a few different brands of mustache waxes to see which ones I prefer, and I've stopped at Can You Handlebar. Not only does it maintain a worry free, all-day hold, this stuff smells fantastic! Given how hard the wax is, it took a couple tries to the technique down (y'know heating up the wax in the tin, dispersing it, and shaping my 'stache). My mustache has never looked better! Since using Secondary, not a day has gone by where I've had to worry if my 'stache has become disheveled. In fact it maintains such an iron fisted grip that if my mustache were Russia, Secondary Wax would be Stalin. Can You Handlebar has tamed this wild beast above my lip so well, that as long as this magnificent beard rests upon my mug, they'll have me as a life long customer.
I've never grown out my facial hair enough to do anything with it since there really isn't much of it. I blame my Asian genes for that! So when I finally just let it do its thing for this year's Movember (haven't trimmed it since), there was a surprisingly decent amount of hair. I thought "great! but it looks dirty!" - not very gentlemanly. This is where CanYouHandleBar comes in. After doing some research on Amazon I took a chance and purchased the Secondary Wax. I knew I would need something strong since I have troubles taming the hair on my head, it would be even worse with course facial hair.Like some other reviewers, I also found that heating the wax with a hair dyer worked the best to get it out of the tin. I did it with the lid off for 30 seconds on high. You have to be quick to apply it to your stache since it does set rather quickly. That could probably be blamed on the current winter weather. Using the hair dryer directly on your stache after application to melt it into position worked well - a tip I got from their website. After some trial and error I produced something I felt was presentable. I'm optimistic that after some more practice I'll get better at working with it and in turn get better looking results. One thing worth mentioning is the smell of the wax. I generally do not like scented products like candles and air fresheners. With that said I personally found the scent to be bearable. Not really unpleasant but not my favorite either. I can't quite put my finger on what it actually smells like but it does give a masculine vibe if that's any consolation. The scent also seems to wear off after a couple hours or maybe my nose just grew numb to it. Either of which is good in my book. All in all I'm pretty pleased with the product and the look I can achieve with it. It's not the easiest thing to apply but once it's set, it ain't moving and the scent could be far worse. Not everyone will "get it" (the jury is currently split on the style) but haters are gonna hate right? Mustache on my friends!
Beeswax, tea tree, jojoba, coconut oil, pine juice, vaseline, and some essential oils form a wonderful blend of Fisticuffs Gentlemen’s Blend Mustache Wax.
The product is handmade and comes in a 1 oz can.
You can say that this is a generous package, provided that a small amount of laundry is enough to keep your mustache in shape almost all day.
In case you are wondering what the exact amount is, say somewhere around the size of a pea.
Although the manufacturer recommends melting it by rubbing it between your index finger and a thumb, this may not be sufficient.
The consistency of this wax is very thick, and it can be challenging and challenging to remove it from the can if you leave it somewhere where it is cold.
If this happens, hold it in your hands for a few minutes, and it will melt. When applied, it smells of bourbon mixed with sandalwood.
- All-natural, top-quality ingredients
- Does not feel heavy
- They can last for a long time
- Unique, light and not overwhelming bourbon smell
- Very thick and hard to melt
- Has no stronghold
Questions & Answers
Is this made in the usa?
Yes, we make the mustache wax ourselves in California. Thank you!
Does this contain patchouli oil?
No. But it smells clean, not too perfume
Going for a petit goatee; very sharp and fairly rigid. Is this the product for me? If not, any suggestions? Thanks in advance for the assist.
No. I didn't necessarily go for a steering wheel, but now I do. My mustache is white and unmanageable. This product is holding it for a while, but it is not becoming rigid and I need something that is a bit more supportive. I just ordered another one online. Please send brand. Within one day. I hope it's a bit stronger than this.
Is there a blend available with some color? The hold is perfect for me but the wax is visible in my stache if I use enough to get that hold.
A fresh can can use much less than a 6 month old can and can work by storing it in a zippered bag or airtight container to maintain freshness

I really like this wax. I have tried a few others and none of them would hold more than 5 minutes after application. I was about to give up my mustache when my colleague gave me this to try (his wife told him to shave). This, frankly, holds my handlebars all day. I have since bought my own and think that a small can of 5-6 months lasts with daily use. A few tips: when I get out of the shower, I put the can between my waist and towel. That way it becomes soft as I comb my hair, brush my teeth and apply beard oil to my beard. ready (do not wait too long after showering, otherwise your mustache will dry out too much and it will be harder to work with), remove what was with your miniature from the can and rub it between your fingers for about 10 seconds. You feel a bit soft. With the same two fingers you turn the ends of your mustache clockwise and it should naturally curl. You must be ready. Hopefully this was useful for someone. The instructions that come with most waxes are terrible (I suppose they don't have much room on a tiny tin).
I love this wax. I have been using water for a while now, but it cannot compete when it comes to applying again during the day. If you tried to touch it, it would flare up and look like a mess. This is really easy to apply and maintain. If you need to adjust again, just continue combing and apply a little more.
This is a serious mustache wax! I wanted to get something to make sure I got a lot of grip, hands down and Fisticuffs wax took up the challenge and surpassed it! I can style my beard or mustache in any way you want with this wax and not worry about getting loose or hanging, even on warmer days. I have used a lot of balms and waxes, and I must say, Fisticuffs had a great light odor and was not heavy or did not leave my mustache feeling dull. A lot for this generous container too. An absolute must if you love your beard and mustache and look absolutely amazing!
This is a very nice mustache wax. It has a creamy consistency, so it is easy to apply. It also has a mild bourbongeur (not overwhelming - luckily, because it's right under your nose). Although it says a strong hold, I would consider it more of a medium hold. Because the ends of my mustache have become longer, I had to use another wax with a stronger grip to get a good curl on the ends. But I still use this wax on most of my mustache.
A recipe guarded since its founding, the Firehouse Mustache Wax is not concerned with delivering quality products. This mustache must use both beeswax and vaseline and has a very mild to unscented smell.
Although the ingredients are not publicly available, the shelf life of this wax is long-lasting, and you will be impressed by how this wax strengthens and holds your mustache all day long.
The first thing you notice about this wax is that it is very dark brown. Although this may be disturbing for some people, it does not stain your hair.
It even lights up when you apply it, and you only need a little bit to get a decent grip on your mustache. You can add more than the recommended amount of peas if you have a lot of hair, but the standard amount should be everything you need. Many reviewers love the way it was in hands; it is healthy and safe and does not fall apart at the end of the day.
There is a reason why they call it ‘Wacky Tacky.’
This stuff is strong and pretty stiff. The result is that it is not as malleable as the other mustaches on the market. You may not be able to adjust your mustache after the wax has been applied. It can be compared to a kind of hair cement. It keeps your mustache on one line and works great for people with a very thick or bushy mustache.
- No added odor
- Super strong shelf life
- Stays well in warm/humid conditions
- We don’t know what’s in it
Questions & Answers
I have areas of white and silver gray will this make my moustache look darker?
No, I don't think so, so it seems to be drying, just look like the pepper you've earned with those gray hairs
Can this be used for beards as well?
It works just as well on my beard as it does on my mustache
Ingredients? Does the product contain any petroleum based items?
I called their customer service and they do use a small amount of petroleum.
Does this wax work well with black-color mustaches in terms of color?
Definitive !! If you put the stuff too thick, you will see a brown wash residue but after a while you will be professional and a perfect mustache ALL DAY WITH PERFECT COLOR so no worries if you get a sticky fire 🙂
Top Customer Reviews
if you are looking for something that keeps your stache in good condition, look no further. This stuff is VERY sticky, it almost has the feel of pine tar on your fingers. I have put on part of my upper lip more than once during application! I have noticed that I do not use this every day, but more as a 'nuclear option' when my mustache is particularly difficult, hence the 4 stars. The scent is quite heavy and will give you the feeling that you are in the forests of Oregon, with an ax and chainsaw in hand on a fresh fall day; that is, it has a musky pine scent. I would recommend it to anyone whose beard and mustache are sometimes just a pain.
Hello Fellow Moustachiers! I actually would like to give this product a 4.5 STAR but contrary to some reports, it does not look well on gray/white hair. Here's a bit of comment I added for another chap..."Don't know if you've had a chance to try this or not yet but I thought I'd jump in to comment that it does have too much brown in it. I have a salt/pepper beard moustache and beard. Technically, even in real black pepper from the shaker, there is quite a bit of brown. I found this made my moustache look "stained" in comparison to the rest of my predominantly white/gray facial hair. I have just purchased another "clear" "firm" wax which I hope will do the trick with a more natural look. I want the hold, not the color. Sadly, this looked even worse as I attempted to twist my handlebars into sharper points? It had the look of a woman who has dyed her hair but then just let it go....darkish brown/black on the tips but gray roots! UGH! Good stuff but BEST suited to those who have dark hair, period. Best wishes!" Good product but for dark hair.
This is the strongest mustache wax I have used to date. It's a bit stiff and needs some warming up with a hair dryer to make it easier to use, but compared to all the other mustaches I've had and tried in the past, it does have the best shelf life. The smell is just okay (it has a bit of a strange odor, but not unpleasant and not strong, so it's completely bearable. I suspect it's just the natural aroma of the wax, nothing has been added and also has a dark color, which is perfect for me because I have dark brown hair, so it blends nicely and can even mask some of the few gray hairs that I have in my mustache.I am now going to try another wax with this brand now also for days when I less love love (this is perfect for a defined handlebar mustache with tight curls, but on some days I prefer a softer, more natural look, but I still need a lighter wax to keep it in place and out of my mouth!)
I have tried everything I can think of to improve my grip on darts. Dart wax did not work at all. That is just hardened, solid beeswax; the same stuff they sell in hardware stores to coat wood screws with to make them easier to drive into boards. It doesn't work for that either. I tried coating my fingers with liquid latex rubber. That didn't work. I tried bowstring wax with good results, but that stuff is too hard to apply. I tried pine tar with mixed results: it goes on easily enough but too much is too sticky and in any case it dries out too soon. Next I tried cold water surf board wax: finally I found something that worked great! I used it for a few days until this mustache wax was delivered. WOW! This is it! I do not believe anything in the world would work better as dart wax than this mustache wax. It is absolutely perfect. You don't have to use much on the one hand, but it is almost impossible to apply too much on the other. And once applied it lasts much longer than any of the other products. This is an excellent product and can probably be used for all kinds of things that could benefit from the judicious application of a little wax.
Death Grip Mustache Wax, handmade and made with only the best, all-natural ingredients, will condition, strengthen, soften and tame wild facial hair and dry skin.
The product is robust and concentrated and offers a reasonably healthy competition that keeps your mustache sharp all day long.
You can say with confidence that it is s, perhaps not the strongest, but today one of the most robust mustache wax.
The fact that it is very concentrated means that a bit can go a long way, so if you don’t want your mustache to look waxy or sticky, start with a small amount.
The 1 oz metal can last for a few months, but keep in mind that you need a heat source to apply the product to your facial hair.
Most men use a hairdryer for this, but a closed can under hot water or leaving the wax in the sun for a few hours is also very tired.
Subtle pine scent is not overbearing and will not disturb you in your daily activities. Use a handy guitar scraper to scrape the required amount of wax out of the can.
- All-natural ingredients
- Extremely stronghold
- Lasts a long time because a little goes a long way
- Hard to apply if you do not use a heat source
- Quite sticky and difficult to wash off your hands
Questions & Answers
Does a little bit go a long way?i want a natural look.dont like it looking slick
Depends on ... For an average mustache, a little bit is needed. Each length at the ends requires just a little bit more. Death Grip comes with a guitar photo for a reason, because it is a resin base. I used the corner of my beard comb to scoop out what I wanted to use, hard to use your fingernail. You will have to warm this up with friction between your fingers and even then it is a challenge to apply it on a cold morning. I discovered that after showering and conditioning, then applying oil, and then a little balm on the stash, Death Grip went more smoothly. It will also come off in the shower more easily later. It will pull and pull your whiskers and occasionally pull and make you smart, grin and wear. Again, preparing your stock and heating it will reduce pulling. It will certainly last for a few hours. My stock is not trimmed on the lip, I had to reapply halfway through my day to keep up with the appearance. It is also great to keep my stock off my lip almost all day. If I used too much Death Grip, not a biggy, I'd have surfaced - bear knuckle fighter in a black-and-white photo look with the tight ends, without abs. If I comb it often, it will come out soon enough. This is a more advanced product, don't be put off. Experiment with it and have fun, you will develop your technique as your inventory grows. Consider turning your stash counter-clockwise and pulling it down like a viking. There are a few guys on YouTube who are great at sculpting, enjoying the trip. Keep your inventory strong!
The picture looks like it comes with a guitar pick, is this true???
Yes, it comes with a guitar pick. The pick is very handy and is used to scrape the wax out of the container. This is not a wax that you can use with your nails to scrape out.
Will this was make a salt and pepper stash or one that is more black than Brown look stained our of colored?
No, I have the same and no color change. Great grip for my handlebar !!
Will this stain Santa's moustache?
99% don't know.

So I bought both a can of the Death Grip and Olde Country (a less sticky wax from the same company), and I can safely say that the Death Grip is my favorite stuff. I try not to do anything special, but this seems to be the required viscosity to prevent my damn mustache from falling to pieces by the end of the day. It is true that you have to apply heat with a hairdryer (i.e. follow the instructions) for it to work, but at the end of the day it is the path of least resistance.
After reading other reviews, my expectations were high that this wax would tame my unmanageable wire brush. I had previously used a Badger brand wash that was far too soft and only stored for about 20-30 minutes. The first impressions with Death Grip were positive. It soothed with heat as others have described and has the consistency of honey when it is hot. It gives a mild pine scent, probably because of the ingredient of pine resin. Once it cools down within a minute, it is firm but still malleable. It lasted all day, although I still had a few stray dogs that I had to keep smoothing out in place. I have experimented with different quantities to find the best hold and so far larger quantities seem to do little to improve the hold. The firmness of the wax is probably the limiting factor for applying more wax than I have lip hair. Update July 2, 2018: I have played with different amounts and my mustache behaves considerably better with more wax. The overall standby is still not the same as a two-part epoxy, as some reviews you may believe, but it is on the more robust side of standby. I have no problems recommending it, give it a try.
I have my wax today. I had not had much luck with other washing. Not that they were bad, just not enough grip. So when I heard about this, I was intrigued. When I opened the can, I noticed that it has a screw cap, quite nice. It also comes with a guitar pick. At first I thought: what is the point: but after I tried to get something out with my fingers, it became clear, (probably it should have added heat first) This stuff is so thick and sticky, you need the pick to take it out and use a frugal amount. The name is not misleading, this stuff looks like gorilla glue. It's so sticky, it's almost hard to get it off your hands. And when it dries, it is ready. It is just like super hold hair gel times 10. If I had to find disadvantages, it works almost too well. This is the strongest hold wax I have ever used. It is even difficult to get out of your mustache. But that's not really a bad thing, it's the best hold I've ever used. And it's all natural. If you need max hold, I cannot recommend it enough. A bit sticky, but a small consideration.
This wax has by far the strongest grip I have seen. I tried to train my mustache a few times, but I always gave up and cut because no wax ever really worked for me. My mustache has really crazy hair near my nose. These pair of hair strands are super irritating and no wax has held them for more than 30 seconds. I have tried a handful of washing (a certain brand name, some generic ones). Death grip managed to hold them in place for about 4 hours. However, I am in the habit of putting my hands on my face and mustache so that it can actually stay longer. one of my naked mustache (straight from the shower / no product applied yet) and one after I applied death grip. Regarding the smell, ehh it's not bad but not good either. Update: I have used the product for a few days now and I see progress. My crazy hair is starting to give way. If you try to train your mustache, I recommend this.
Produced in Portland, Maine, Stache Bomb Stache Wax is one of those products that you love because it is made by a man who is sick of inferior products.
Jamin Badger had his mustache grow to fight against the cold Maine winter of 2010 but discovered that the available mustache wash did not work.
Like any enterprising American, Badger decided to make his homemade mustaches, and the rest is history.
Stache Bomb Stache Wax consists mainly of soft beeswax, with an underlying pine scent that many describe as citrusy. Stache Bomb is thinner than most washings on the market.
It keeps whiskers out of your mouth and in place, but without the caked texture that seems to offer so much other.
Although Stache Bomb has only been on the market since 2011, it has quickly become one of the most popular products of its kind, because it gives a well-groomed mustache a completely natural look.
This product is so versatile that you can even use it on your sideburns and beard.
- Easy to apply
- Very natural-looking finish
- Excellent hold
- Washes out easily
Questions & Answers
How strong is the scent?
It is a relatively mild pine scent, it evaporates fairly quickly.
I have a white stach. will this product darken it? love the white!!
The product won't darken your stache.
How many ounces in the can?
I'm looking at the can now and unfortunately it doesn't say. I'm terrible at guessing things of this nature but I would venture 1.5 oz
How do I train my stache to the sides and not in my mouth?
I pull out the hairs that don’t go the way they are trained. Some just never will. Make sure you warm the wax (put the van in your pocket for 15 minutes) and then apply enough to make the hair go where you want it. Almost massage it in the hair and gently pull outward and then shape it how you want it to look. It will only work when the hair is long enough.

I had initially purchased Firehouse brand wax and liked it, but wanted to try some other brands just to see which one I liked the best. This wax is much softer than the Firehouse wax, which makes it much easier to apply, but also doesn't provide as much hold. If you want to put some serious curl on your moustache, go with Firehouse, but if you just want to keep a few unruly hairs in place, this wax might do the trick.Once applied, this wax stays soft. It has a mildly oily feel, but it's not unpleasant. It feels like my moustache is being conditioned from it.My girlfriend prefers the smell of this wax over the Firehouse brand. The Stache Bomb wax has a light citrus-y fragrance and is very pleasant. Also, it's made in the USA, so that's a bonus. All in all, this wax is nice, but doesn't provide the hold for curling the ends of my moustache. It DOES keep the few unruly hairs in line, and I think it would work well on sideburns and beards as well.
I have a very unruly beard - It grows in all sorts of weird direction with lots of random little singular pokie-outies all over that standard beard wax alone just can't handle. If I don't tame it every day, I look like a crazed wizard. If you are like me, I've got a pretty good routine for you -As soon as you get out of the shower, apply beard balm while your beard is still moist - not sopping wet - moist (I use Honest Amish, works great). Let that dry before doing anything else to it - Applying wax too early don't work so good. Keep the Stache Bomb tin in your pocket while you wait for your beard to dry, then work a bit of wax across all your fingertips and smooth that down over your beard, styling it as you see fit while doing so. A little goes a long way!

This stuff is great and provides a firm hold once in place. It is pleasantly scented, and the tin is small enough to carry around in my jeans pocket without being conspicuous. Some claim you need to warm it (using warm water, a hair dryer, etc.) before using it, but I've found that to be unnecessary. Simply rubbing your finger or thumb rapidly on the surface of the wax creates enough friction to soften it. [At first, I used the enclosed guitar pick to scrape some out before rubbing it between my fingers, but found the other method simpler.]
There are times, despite our efforts, when our facial hair has its own opinion. It becomes unruly, with beard hairs facing outwards or in different directions, or it looks lifeless, without form.
Seven drinks will feel pain. But they also offer an excellent solution with their beard wax, a completely natural, completely organic styling wax that gives your beard the appearance it deserves (even if it is untreatable).
What we like is that it offers a good grip without your beard looking stiff or unnatural. Also, it is filled with ingredients that feed your beard, while split ends, rose, and the dreaded beard is split.
Of course, it also improves the appearance of your beard, which is certainly no harm if you have a first date, tries to impress someone who is romantically interested, or in a job interview or other meeting at the one workplace in which you look at your best is of vital importance.
The Seven Potions Beard Cleansing is only for use on your beard – and not for your mustache – and has a creamier, creamier feel than the mustache.
You will love the smell; it is a mix of sandalwood and cedarwood that is called Woodland Harmony.
It is not overwhelming, but not so subtle that you never notice it. Others will also like it.
- More conditioning than a lot of washing
- All-natural and organic
- Multifunctional product
- Relatively Weak Keep
Questions & Answers
I don't see bees wax in the ingredient list?
Cera Alba is beeswax.
Does this have shea butter in it? I hate the smell of Shea butter.
Is not safe
How do you wash this off from your beard? Is it easily washable and water soluble?
This product is very washable. My custom with my 5 year old beard is to wash twice a week, therefore, eliminating this product is easy, fast and does not leave sticky residues.
Have you considered not using palm oil in your product? Farming for palm oil has been disastrous for wildlife habitats.
I think you mean "Balsam" and not Palm and how exactly does it affect wildlife?

This is the first wax that I bought. He only uses it when we go out, not daily. I could see a slight difference when he used the wax, but, nothing extreme. Therefore, I would say that this has a medium lightness. What I do not like is the smell; I really can not think of anything to compare it with, but I think I put it in the carmex lip balm, candle without perfume, category. It's not the best comparison, because I really like the smell of lip balm, but yes, this wax, there's something I do not like. Luckily, its smell is not strong. I can not connect the smell to what it's called, Woodland Harmony. It's like calling something Strawberry Daydream, but, it smells like simple chapstick. In short, I just do not like it, but you get a level of lightness to medium, hahaha.
This is a great beard balm or (wax as they call it). I have used many balms including some high-priced "balms of style". This gives more grip than any "Heavy Duty" balsam. What I like is in the can is hard as mustache wax. A bit difficult to discard, just use a tool. I have maybe a 2 "beard, a nickel-sized amount works very well for my extremely rowdy hairs, then get ready for an arm workout because you really want to warm it in your hands, then I rub it down on top of the I have an even coverage, of course I do this a couple of times, sometimes, after applying it, I could take a hair dryer on a high heat to a medium temperature (only when I have to look good.) That allows me to mold and tame this animal in my face, and a huge benefit is that this material does not harden like mustache wax, if the beard balm "Heavy Duty" is not enough to you or feel greasy, this is for you! Oh, that reminds me, heavy-duty beard balms always make me feel greasy because I have to use SOOOO a lot, and it still holds for half a day. ego, I still feel greasy. Think about this, you pay less for a 2-ounce heavy-duty beard balm and you have to use two to three times as much to maintain and deal with the feeling of fat or buy this and use half the amount of cheaper material . The long-term cost is worth it. Trust me. For those who wonder how easy it is to wash, the shampoo for beard and a hot shower will eliminate everything. If you do not use a beard shampoo every day when you bathe or bathe, you can simply rub your fingers with your beard when you bathe and that eliminates most of the product. When I say most of the product, I want to say that some are still present, but not enough to avoid greasing the beard. Also, do not mess with your pillow cases. I will buy this again.
The first time I saw the name beard wax, I got a little confused, since I used beard balm and mustache wax. Well, this is exactly what it sounds like. Beard wax! The most specific description to give is the child's beard balm and mustache wax. The wax is exactly as advertised. It gives your beard a firm grip that does not make it crispy and sticky. It gives a good shape but does not sculpt. Therefore, if you are looking for whiskers on the handlebar, this beard wax will not work. As it was said, it gives him a good grip but his beard remains quite soft and feels natural. I would say it is a beard balm but with better grip. A little goes a long way and I must say that the price is not cheap but rather fair. It is a high quality product, so yes, you get what you pay for.
It seems good but I suppose that it waits for me better than to endure. For another person, it could be perfect. It feels like wax when I scrape a little, as soon as I start rubbing it on my palms, it feels like a balm only. For me, the ingredients of Balsam really decrease the amount of ingredients that are held. That said if my beard was more domesticated, I would love this thing. I still gave him 4 stars because the problem is that my beard is not the products.
Which man does not like the smell of a deep, rich, painful cigar? It is a masculine fragrance that is sturdy and pleasant, perfect for daily use or just for special occasions.
This was beeswax and petroleum jelly to get that soft, pliable texture, which in turn makes it easy to spread it on your mustache and hold it. It has no residue and is not stiff, unlike other products. It has a long waiting time while you can still manipulate and adjust your mustache throughout the day.
This wax gets its characteristic smell of tea tree oil in the wash, a solid smelling mold-resistant substance that is at the same time minimal and spicy, This oil, combined with tonnes of coconut oil and pine trees, create that unique smell of cigars that looks very much like a moist forest.
This product also contains Jojoba oil, essential oil to strengthen the hair and give it a healthy shine.
This is a great laundry product, although your mileage may vary depending on how thick and how long your mustache is.
For many reviewers, this product worked great to shape and tame their unruly facial hair. For others, it was strong, but not strong enough to carry all day. Generally, it is a good product to use for most, if not the entire working day. This also depends on the weather, because the wax can depend on higher temperatures.
- Lighter wax for flexible beard styling
- Interesting scent
- Low price
- The aroma will not be for everyone
Questions & Answers
How does this compare to old fashioned fisticuffs mustache wax in terms of smell and hold?
All the strong holds have the same hold; this is a step up hold wise from our regular old fashioned 15g tin of mustache wax. The old fashioned is citrus and rosemary in scent, this is a masculine tobacco and vanilla scent.
Can i use this as a beard balm. i thought that was what i was buying. beard balm instead or mustache wax?
Certainly. It may be a bit of "thinking" for your beard - it will have a larger "hold" than most beard balms.
What color is it?
The wax is a creamy tone white in the can, but when applied it is clear.
Why petroleum as an ingredient? I love the beard balm and wanted a moustache wax but this will keep me from buying it
I don't know exactly, but it is Vaseline, or Vaseline. But petroleum as an ingredient in the cosmetics industry is a normality.

I have a full beard and I use beard wax to keep stray, wiry hairs at bay, as well as to provide a nicely-groomed appearance. I have two favorite beard waxes: Golddachs Hungarian Moustache Wax and Fisticuffs (Grave Before Shave) Cigar Blend Vanilla Mustache Wax (not balm). I like to alternate both brands just for the sake of variety, but only when I find Golddachs for under $20. The two waxes are very different than each other, so here's what I like and dislike about each:GOLDDACHS* Softish wax, pliable, easy to spread* Effective without being too stiff* Pleasant, fresh smell* Quality glass container* Leaves a greasy residue on my cell phone when holding phone against beard* Feels a little greasy when rubbing my beard (I know we shouldn't touch our beard frequently, but face it, we all do)FISTICUFFS* Stiff wax, difficult to spread (unless pre-heated, but who has time for that)* Very effective hold without feeling stiff* Fantastic masculine smell (my wife is ***CRAZY*** about this scent...tbh, her hands are all over me when wearing this)* No leftover greasy residue to the touch (or against my phone)If Fisticuffs had the pliability of the Golddachs, I would probably prefer it, but given the differences of each, I like the variety. I highly recommend both, hence the 5-star review here.
Ok I normally don't do product reviews...But this shit is just so awesome I gotta tell ya about it...I have a large hoof style mustache and ride motorcycles...I've tried a lot of different mustache waxes over the years and was reasonably satisfied with the regular Fisticuffs wax... That was before I found the Strong Hold version here...I use a hair dryer to heat up the wax slightly before scraping off some with my thumbnail... Rub it between my thumb and forefinger and apply...I comb it through for even distribution before it sets up...The result is exceptional control of otherwise unruly mustache hair...My mustache looks natural and still looks good even after riding the bike down the road... The first time I used this and went riding I couldn't believe what I saw when I reached our destination... My Badass mustache still looked Badass... Regardless of your mustache type you really need to try this product... I'm just hoping they can keep up with the demand after eveyone finds out how well this product works...I'm going to buy ten more tins before anyone else finds out....lol
Keep in mind, I've got a pretty long beard. Doesn't hold well. Even if you apply a bit extra, it'll only last 3-4 hours. Doesn't smell like cigars at all - more like a cheap candle. If you're like me and need a stronger hold that lasts for a full 8-hour shift, then check out "Firehouse Moustache Wax, Wacky Tacky." Best stuff out there. A little goes a long way, which makes it worth the price.Firehouse Moustache Wax, Wacky Tacky
It is no surprise that people at Honest Amish know something about beards.
Amish men have finally been bearded since long before the popularity of beards has increased enormously in the past few years.
When it comes to beard washing products, they know what they are doing.
And their honest Amish Original Beard Wax is considered the oldest beard wax recipe that has been included. If you are looking for quality, it can never hurt to go directly to the source.
Although the number appeared on the market for the first time in the 1970s, Honest Amish Original Beard Wax is still popular and still does the work it was originally intended for: a man’s wildness tame. Beard.
It will not be simpler than that when it comes to explaining what beard wax is for.
One reviewer described the Original Beard Wax as the facial hair equivalent of hairspray, although you should never confuse an Honest Amish product with something that does not contain entirely natural ingredients.
The point, however, is that this wax offers superior grip, as well as an excellent balance between style.
The hold is derived from completely natural beeswax, while the superior styling comes from completely natural butter.
- Great for Styling
- Easy to use (once heated)
- All-natural and organic
- It can take a while to warm up
Questions & Answers
Is it easy to wash out the wax at the end of the day? Do you need a special shampoo?
Never had a problem. With a 8 month old growth beard, the wax is somehow "absorbed" into the beard. That is to say my beard is straight, smooth, soft and conditioned, with no waxy residue. If you don't already blow dry your beard, try combing some of this in with some gentle heat. Your lover will love you, and if you don't have a lover, you will.
Is this a heavier wax than the slick beard wax? I'm currently using the slick wax, but I need a little more hold.
Yes it holds well. I'm a black male i put in on in the am and it holds my beard in place. Before i started using it my hair would not lay down. I Like it alot.
What if you have no Beard would this product help grow one?
Of course not. That's like asking if rubbing wax on your head can cure baldness.
I have a lot of white in my beard. Will this product make it look yellow?
No - I am usually white and see no yellowing. I also like the product!

I was not sure about what to get with all of these facial hair products, so I ended up getting this Amish beard wax along with the Amish beard balm. The wax is basically the next level of hold above the beard balm. I don't have a crazy big beard so I probably could get away without using this, but it is very helpful with keeping hairs organized. Sometimes a balm doesn't have enough hold, so a wax is what you'll need for that extra help. I chose this for the simple ingredients and the basic presentation. If you have shorter facial hair, an inch or less, then you probably don't need to use this wax and would be fine using a balm. If you have anything longer, really crazy hairs, or want some cool facial hair styling, then definitely consider picking up a tin. It'll last a decent amount of time and help keep everything neat. The wax comes in a tin, about the size of the palm of your hand. The wax hardens up in colder temperatures, so I just scrap some out using the back of my fingernail, rub it between my fingers, then apply.
I am fairly new to growing a longer beard and have quickly discovered that facial hair is not going to lie alone. Sometimes you get those stubborn hairs that go wherever they want and make you look like a wild man. If that is not the look you are looking for, then this product is for you. I have to say that I have recommended this product to buy a few friends who have been users for a long time. I'm glad I was, because now I don't have to waste time and money looking for something that works. This is it! The package advises to apply while the beard is damp, and this stuff works noticeably better when applied in this way. You can certainly use it with a dry beard, but it spreads more evenly and disappears more easily into the hair when you use it just after showering or washing your face / beard. The hold that this offers is strong enough to tame daily hair or tame the wildest beard / mustache styling. It is also very easy to adjust your beard later in the day with a quick flattening or brushing if you have done something to confuse your styling. I will definitely try other Honest Amish products.
I’m new to beard grooming products & came across this to try 1st. It’s too solid and not the easiest to apply for my needs. I may have given a better review or no review at all, but the add states 100% money back if not satisfied. This is toward the end of my second week & I am not liking it. I went to process a return & it states this cannot be returned! NOTE: see my update below if not satisfied!I want try another product and may have considered their balm or oil.Update: In order to receive your refund if not satisfied, be sure to contact Honest Amish directly. Look around on their website and you will eventually find their an email address. They responded within a day & after I supplied them with some needed info, I received my refund. I gave them more stars & removed the negative comments I originally had due to their customer service even though that one product didn’t work for me. I’d now be willing to try some of their other products based on their customer service.
Nothing against the Amish, but this product didn't do it for me. I bought it to tame some stragglers. It smells fine. And, applying via the advised method (a small amount melted between your palms) works. But, I find that, if I use enough to really control the hair, it clearly looks like I have something in my beard. If I don't, then it has no effect on the specific unruly hair I'm trying to control. Now, could it just be me? Sure, except I found that a balm I purchased from CVS does a better job in a pinch, and it's just a balm. And, a bear oil I previously reviewed seems to help tame hair BEFORE it becomes a problem. But, it is possible that you just have to be a real Amish-badass (Or Chasidic-badass, if you prefer) to rock this product. Not for me though. Maybe I'll try it on my eyebrows.
Mountaineer Brand Mustache Wax is produced in West Virginia, a state where many mountain men have impressive facial hair.
This product is a harder mustache than the Stache Bomb; If your beard is exposed to extreme elements during activities such as riding a motorcycle or if you live in an environment with high humidity, harder resins are necessary to keep your hair under control.
Looking for a mustache wax that lasts a long time and that you can safely take with you without fear of being undone: Mountaineer Brand Mustache Wax offers both things.
It comes in a large 2 oz can, few can go a long way, so it lasts a long time and has a handy, secure lid.
You can trust that all listed ingredients are entirely natural, beeswax-based without harmful components.
Did not expect a firm grip for your handlebars, because this wax has a more natural grip.
It is made from a beeswax base like many other products but does not have the pale yellow appearance of almost every other best Moustache Waxes available on the market.
- Beeswax-based formula with all-natural ingredients
- The neutral and clear shade that does not change your snorkel color
- Has a mild odor that is not overwhelming
- Non-sticky and waxy
- The consistency is very soft and therefore does not offer a stronghold
- Some customers do not like the smell
Questions & Answers
Do you have a mustache wax dark brown and black that covers some gray?
We do not. Sorry
Is it truly neutral, or does it have a beeswax color?
It has a slight beeswax colour but that does not bother me as it does the job for me and i like it
Is this product really hard to get from the container?
No. Use the back of your fingernail just as the instructions suggest. Rub & warm slightly between thumb(s) and finger(s), then apply and shape mustache to your satisfaction.
Does it have a shine or matte finish?
Matt, much less of a stiff waxy look than some others I have tried.

I'm an old geezer who has had a mustache since before most of you were born, but this is the first time I've tried a mustache wax.. I decided to move to a handlebar style just to spice things up and figured I needed a wax to keep it in place, but I didn't really know what to expect.First off, I love the fact that something that's being applied this close to my nose and mouth is 100% natural (even though I guess you could say that poison ivy and snake venom are all-natural as well). This wax goes on easily, doesn't irritate my skin and doesn't stink -- three more things I really appreciate. The only downside is that it doesn't really hold as well as I would like and has to be reapplied several times throughout the day, even in this cold weather. All in all, I would like something with better hold but will probably buy again when this tin runs out.
I hate to give the product 3 stars, because it is actually a good product, but I would not call this mustache wax. It is more a harder beard balm. Maybe it works for someone with a smaller mustache and beard, but it doesn't work with a large mustache. At high humidity, the product drops the stache incredibly quickly. I tried to use it in Florida for a week, and it couldn't sustain. I switched to my old laundry without a problem. The scent is nice and can work for the beards of beards, but this is not a mustache wax for a large mustache.
I do not have a Fuller Brush under my nose. I have fine white hairs that curl and spiral every which way and decided to let them grow rather than trim every 3 days. Wacky Tacky sounded like the best but it apparently is dark, something not good on a white mustache. Now on every mustache wax, there's a trade off. One thing is the smell. All waxes smell because they go right there where your nose is and nothing on this planet is odorless, really. So what you want is something you can go "Nose-blind" to or is tolerably pleasant. This one happens to be both for me, but it might be I have Old-Man-Nose. Some kid with a Super Honker might smell this all day. But that's fine. It smells like Christmas. The other trade off is between hold power and ease of application. The better the hold, the harder it is to work up and apply. I use a nail file to skim it from the can and work it in. This one is fairly easy to apply so it is not the best holding. But it keeps my little wild hairs a little more tame. And I'm a delicate flower so I want something that won't make my skin go all pimply. This doesn't. I've had a lot worse. It aint perfect but it will do.

I shaved my beard but left my mustache for a Halloween costume and since then it has grown. I wanted to make it look neat and play with styling, so I turned to Amazon for a wash - but I'm not at home in mustache care either. I have read the reviews and selected them based on customer feedback and price. I am / was looking for a product that helped my whiskers train as they grew and held them in place, THIS is not that product. I would even call it a mustache balm. Here are my benefits: PROS: - smells nice - not greasy - softens hair - easy to use - no residue, product mixtures okay, not the product I have to train a new mustache to style the way I want (send), but I will still use this product if I am not doing much style to keep my stache soft and tidy. I think that if I start growing the hair, it will become more useful the smoother it is. I will update if this is the case. Still completely satisfied. TIP: I use my hairpaste - L'oreal Poker Paste and it does better in style, but it is harder to go into the stache.
One of the more popular best mustache Waxes used by both beginners and expert mustaches men, Fisticuffs mustache is an excellent Wax to start with.
Even though it’s a relatively cheap Mustache Wax, it’s good for beginners to get their feet in the styling of the facial hair.
While this may be good for the novice, we discovered, like many others in our peer review analysis, that the handle of this wax will not be the strongest in particular.
In general, you may expect to hold this pricker for only a few hours before you need to re-apply the product to achieve the desired results.
In addition to the moderate to weak hold, we had mixed feelings about the ingredients used in this product.
Positive is that it contains beeswax, tea tree oil, jojoba oil, and coconut oil.
However, we were a little disappointed that this product is draining its essential oils and only lists some essential oils on the label.
In addition to the vagueness of the essential oils, this product also contains petroleum jelly.
As stated in a previous review of the product, the addition of this synthetic ingredient disqualifies it as a completely natural product.
With an appearance of 15 g (or about 0.5 oz), this wax gives a slightly more favorable rating with its lower price.
As a bonus, this mustache wax was made in the USA!
Finally, about the smell, the Fisticuffs Mustache Wax has a bit more of a citrus scent that smells pleasant and probably disappears within the first hour of application.
- All-natural ingredients listed on the label
- Pleasant but not overpowering citrus/rosemary aroma
- The handy size that you can carry in your pocket
- Very cheap and affordable
- Not for men with very coarse facial hair because it doesn’t hold long
- Hard to melt
Questions & Answers
My stache was always a little thin compared to wooly mammoth beard, but after a month its passing lower lip.Good to train it out to sides to go epic?
This is my favorite mustache wax for a combination of scent and function. That said, I like a medium to moderate hold, which this provides. It almost moisturizes while providing hold. It is not good for those who need real help pointing their hairs in one direction or another. Lordy I did not think I would be a 37 year old man providing advice on mustache wax. FML
How strong is the "Pleasant citrus/rosemary aroma"?
The smell is noticeable, but not overwhelming. I don't get any citrus in it ... more like ginger and rosemary. I can absolutely smell all the other things that I am used to smell while I have it in my mustache.
Is it tested on animals?
Unsure but I tested it on my mustache and it’s awesome!
Mustache and beard wax?
A bit dense for a beard. Better for 'stache

I bought this looking for something that would hold my mustache out of my mouth and nose all day. It does this well for maybe 5 hours. It doesn't hold up to the movement of my lips and often will require reapplication in the middle of the day. This is not the downfall of the product. It's possibly the best I have tried and smells great. I would recommend just know that it's not an all day hold.
This wax is reasonably pliable with a nice, yellow color that applies clear, and I love the citrus smell. Now, I was lead to believe this wax maintained a decent hold on the stache, but I found the hold to be medium at best. The wax does not hold in the center at all, and after a couple hours, my curls start to droop (and that's on a good day). I've read reviews that suggest this wax is great for those who are looking for a medium hold and those who only want to shape the stache, and I will agree to that. Once I notice my curls are drooping, I can't keep my hands out of my face. I shape and pull and twist for the remainder of the day, and while I can't say it maintains the hold I'm looking for, it does keep hair out of my mouth. I give it a 3 stars for presentation, color, smell, and cool factor (one of the coolest wax brands/logos I've seen). But I dock it 2 points for lack of hold for the length I have. I know reapplying is recommended, but it is not ideal for me. I work throughout the day and would likely be shown the door if I spent time reapplying wax in a pocket mirror. I recommend Wacky Tacky for an all-day hold with any style (curled handlebar or a pulled-natural look). I only have a 3 month old stache though, so I'll return in about 6 months to a year to review again and I'll determine how much better or worse this wax behaves with longer whiskers
FAQ About Mustache Waxes
You must take enough mustache wax to cover one of your fingers and then spread it. Taking too much means that you have many excesses that can dry out and look bad in your facial hair. Too much wax can also prevent the mustache from becoming supple, and it just looks unnatural.
