1-Remington HC4250 Self-Haircut Kit
We have many questions when we think about electric razors:
- Bring a shave nearby?
- Does the battery last a long time?
- Is it noisy?
- But do we think about the part of our body that is most responsible for its use?
Maybe. Maybe not.
In fact, how a shaver feels on your hand is a vital consideration. And that’s one of the reasons why we really like the Remington HC4250.
It fits easily in your hand. There is nothing clumsy or difficult to handle about it.
It has a rubber grip for maximum control. After all, nobody wants a razor that comes out of hand and ends up on the floor of the bathroom (hopefully not in a million pieces).
Of course, the Remington HC4250 is much more than just its grip. It is, after all, the best electric razor to shave head. But we would be negligent if we did not mention his grip.
However, there are many more things to like about it:
The HC4250 has an extra wide curved blade that closely follows the contour of your head to provide you with a uniform cut.
Versatile and has everything you need to get a quality haircut from the comfort of your home, which includes:
Combs of nine lengths (from 1/16 to 5/8 ).
A cleaning brush and oil.
It is available for use with cable and without cable.
A rechargeable lithium battery with 40 minutes of wireless operation. The Remington HC4250 can also be used with a cable and comes with a charging adapter. A full charge takes four hours, which is not bad compared to other razors.
It is 100% washable with water. That is always a great feature and makes cleaning your razor a lot easier (with so little clutter).
Questions & Answers
I want a bald shave and not a buzz cut. Would this product help?
Hello, it is certain that the razor does not shave on the skin like a Mach3 razor. This razor shaves in the same way as a normal hair clipper, but is used much more efficiently, making shaving much faster. I sometimes shave my head in front of me and other times I take a Gillette razor. Sorry for my weak English, I am French.
Would this be good for shaving my head I usually cut my hair with 0 clip on clippers
My husband uses this to shave his head all the time. It is easier to use this clipper than normal clippers. He can grab it better and get a uniform overall cut.
Can I shave my beard with this?
No. This pulled out my facial hair, which was very painful. This is not strong enough to cut thick facial hair. My beard is short.
Is this product only available in 120volt, or is it available in 220-240volt as well?
Only supplied with 120V adapter.
For those who: 1) do not want to spend $ 20 every 2 weeks on a haircut; and 2) I like to keep my hair short ... this is a GREAT machine. I am 66 years old, and although I used to keep my hair longer, I have rejected the hairstyle aspect in favor of cleanliness. Usually, I ruffle my hair but I do not want the chrome-domed look of a shaved head. And besides, I stopped shaving a long time ago. So ... since I like to look clean and professional, I was used to waiting in a hairdresser to disburse cash every two weeks. Then I started looking for alternatives. I found this razor and I could not be happier. It takes about 3 minutes for my hair to have the desired length (use accessory 1.5) and clean the shaver. It is so easy to do this a couple of times a week. And the shaver will pay itself in 6 weeks. What else can I ask?
He is an awesome clipper to cut a dog's hair. We have a 4 year old Westie, called Millie, and I always cut my hair. I had an older clipper that was useful, but this new one was amazing. I gave my dog a haircut in about 10 minutes. It gave a very even cut that is not very close or shaved. I used the longer 5/8 "blade guard, which was perfect, I could go over her hair and remove her hair immediately, I used a movement as if I was brushing it ... I would go in one direction and then I would go back to the other direction to get a uniform cut.Areas like ears, eyes and other sensitive areas will need scissors, but I could make your legs, neck, body, head, most of your face and tail with this thing in a very short period time compared to other clippers this is much quieter and does not have a strong vibration to scare a dog I have my dog lying down and just turn it until it is clipped, then I make it sit or stand to do a closer job. I know that hairdressers work with the dog standing up, but I feel that it is quieter when it does not have to be stopped all the time. The Remington shortcut was loaded in a few hours and kept a full charge all the time I was trimming Millie. Very happy with my purchase. Thank you. to read my reviewBecky Brooks
Exactly what I need and nothing of the bloat. My goal is to keep my scalp as close to bald as possible without the razor and it does it quickly and easily. FYI - I threw away all the plastic pieces ... I don't need them. Once you do that, everything fits in the case 🙂
I bought this kit to replace a beard trimmer that I used to shave my hair on my head every other day or so. The problem with the regular trimmer was the small blade, as well as the irritation of the hair clipper on my scalp. This thing worked beautifully out of the box, even without a full charge on the battery. It has reduced the time I spent shaving my head by at least half. It is especially easier to cut the back of my head and get a nice smooth gradient of hair, instead of spots / uncut areas that you can get with a smaller trimmer. Usually I can take over a place once instead of several times, which has reduced the irritation I mentioned. The battery life also looks great on this little thing, although I usually connected it during use. I have really rinsed it with water only once or twice, although it is water resistant / resistant. I prefer to use the brush with which it has cleaned the blades. Overall this thing is excellent, and I would buy another one if I needed it. Hopefully the battery and the blades will last quite a while!
2-Skull Shaver Pitbull Platinum Shaver
The Pitbull Platinum is one of the best electric razors to shave head. It has a comfortable grip with a large head that extends from the base. You can hold it comfortably and pass it over your head without worrying about nicks or cuts. This bad boy looks amazing and has that masculine chrome look! The good thing about this new model is that you can use it in the shower and perform multiple tasks!
Skull Shaver actually has 3 models of its new Pitbull models. The Pitbull Platinum is the Elite model, High End. It is one of the easiest to use, so it is at the top of the list. It adapts to the palm of the hand, which facilitates shaving around the head. This makes shaving comfortable and fast.
There are 5 blades that move and rotate independently, allowing the large coverage area to conform to the shape of your skull. You also get enough uses with a single charge. It also comes equipped with a deluxe travel case, a charging cable and an LCD display with battery indicator. I really like the travel blocking feature too. I can not tell you how many times my razor accidentally went on to be taken to the warehouse on the plane. When I need it the next morning the battery is dead!
It's ok, not worth $200.... The feel and flexibility of the shaver is good. Don't buy this expecting to have a one pass to be smooth result. You will need to use some pressure for that and even then it takes multiple passes and will cause skin irritation. I still find myself using a razor for certain spots. If you want a quick tool to be presentable, this is it. I still prefer the smoothness you get with a blade even tho it takes a bit more time, this product in my opinion would be more acceptable at about $100 price point, I bought the platinum.
I really love this shaver. It is easy and makes shaving my head fast and safe. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is the price is a little high, and I have yet to receive the washing station yet. I submitted the paperwork on the website, per the inserts instructions, but have yet to hear anything.
Works GREAT! Granted I have only used Pitbull. It does slightly loose power after 80% charge but still works exceptionally well. It got only 4 stars due to poor customer service. Contacted customer service 3 times but only got back to me once.I would buy again but the next time I would buy gold instead of platinum. From what I can tell the difference is that the platinum has a 2 year warranty versus 1 year, comes with a carrying case worth maybe $20 & a soaking stand which is worthless. You pay $100 more for the platinium. I would recommend buying the gold for a $100.

Earlier this spring when my 6 year old Braun died I researched for a replacement and narrowed it down to the Braun Series 7 and the Panasonic Arc 5. While my skin is not overly sensitive I do get some in grown hairs with some of the electric razors out there. Over the last 20 years my experience with Braun has been positive when it comes to this which is why I chose to go with the Series 7 790 cc. The series 7 has a changed foil design compared to my older Braun which resulted in lots of in growns for me. I stayed with it for 5 weeks and still no improvement. Therefore I bought the Panasonic ES-LV81-K Arc 5. After using the Arc 5 I can say that for me it delivers much better results. No in growns and a closer shave. When compared to Braun, Brauns overall build quality is better and I like the way the Braun fits in my hands better...however the ultimate reason for buying a shaver is the quality of the shave and this is where the ARC 5 beats the Braun 760 cc. I shave in less time, the shave is closer, and I have no problems with in growns. As far as 4 stars versus 5...the shave quality is a 5, however the plastic cheaper feel of the shaver does bring my rating down just a little.
This is the second Panasonic Arc razor I have owned. The rotary style shavers tore my neck up very bad. I have very sensitive skin but this razor doesn't bother me at all. The first panasonic shaver, the trimmer piece sheared the teeth rendering it useless. After receiving this one, I realized it was my fault. I would leve the shaver running and deploy the trimmer, use it, and push it back in. Doing this while the shaver is running is what sheared the trimmer teeth. This model is an improvement over my last model. The head pivots nicely and the display on the shaver is easy to read and reliable. I like the rubber grips on either side of the handle. It feels secure in my hands, even if they are wet. The cleaner really does lubricate the blades as I can tell a difference after running the shaver through a cleaning cycle. I normally rince my shaver after every shave and use just the dry function to dry the shaver really well. Then once a week, I run the clean cycle. Doing this extends the life of the cleaner cartridges significantly.
Had used the four-blade Panasonic device a few years ago and was happy with it, but it was my first electric shaver and hadn't had anything to compare it to. The foils had somewhat deteriorated after about two years of use, and instead of getting replacements, just opted for a brandnew, cheap shaver.Switched to a lower-model Braun that was absolutely worthless. The closest I could get was about the equivalent of a full-day regrowth using the Panasonic (both the four- and five-blade models). Once again, it was a lower-model Braun, so I can't comment on their expensive ones. But I make a point that the money you pay for this Panasonic upgrade is absolutely noticeable. Used the Braun for about six months before realizing that I wanted the Panasonic-close-shave again. After getting this five-blade device, my wet shaves take about 3-5 minutes. I use Proraso as the shave soap. I go over the same places on my face multiple times, more just out of habit than because it's absolutely necessary. Closeness is so good that even twelve hours later I'm still baby smooth if I move my hand on my face with the grain. Why the lost star: same as with the four-blade device, both of these Panasonic have absolutely pathetic sideburn trimmers. They're flimsy. The one on my four-blade device stopped working after about 18 months. The one on my five-blade device is noticeably the same; hopefully it holds out. The sideburn trimmer on the cheap Braun I KEEP IN MY CABINET IN THE DARK BECAUSE I PREFER IT OVER THE PANASONIC'S, DESPITE THE BRAUN BEING WAY WORSE. So yeah, that says a lot. But I still give four stars because the foil/close-shave function is stellar.
First off let me say that Ive been using the ES8077 model for about 5 or 6 years. That's an older model of this razor that has been, simply put....amazing. I wanted to stay with Panasonic because at the time i bought that one...it was the best one on the market and I knew i was getting quality. I had read a lot of reviews and im glad I stayed with my brand. The shaver is just as good as thee old one, but better. Its sleek and modern, looks pleasing to thee eye. runs quiet. and holds a charge well. Just as with any electric razor...it takes time to get used to it luckily thats all I use. I have a very thick beard and I have to shave daily. Im 30 yr white male. Italian and German ancestry so you know my hair is thick. This is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. If you let ur hair get too long it wont be able to cut it pleasently. So as with any shaveer. use it daily or every other day. Many of you are probably wondering, as I did, Do you just get the razor...or the one for 50 more bucks that comes with thee cleaner. Get the one that comes with the cleaner. Why? Because when your rushing to work and you dont have time to properly clean the head....you throw it on there. You dont need it...but spend a little bit of money to ensure the product is taken care of. You can do it yourself...but for me...I know im very busy in the morning and sometimes I might forget or just not clean it...so for me this is something I need. Just to keep the shaver in its prime. It looks cool and overall the shaver is awesome, works like a champ and it easy to use. Spend the few extra bucks and get the cleaning station. Again, you dont need it, but it gives you options. If your as busy as me, you will be glad you did. soap and water will clean it as well, and the cartridges you buy to clean it can be cleaned and used every other shave or whenever you like.

Im not usually one for writing reviews but I feel compelled to do so. I read so so many reviews on these razors, and I gotta tell ya i read far more negative reviews then positive. I came close to shutting the book on this purchase, then one day i looked in the mirror and saw facial hair i didn't like. As a quadriplegic shaving is a chore and one that is on going, if I shave at night before bed i need another shave by noon. So I said hell with it ,if I don't like it I'll send it back. Well I was pleasantly surprised! I love the way it fits in my hands ( not having very good dexterity) the power button is easy to push! And most importantly it gave me a very very close shave! it's a game changer! I haven't even tried shaving wet yet, I could only assume that it's better. And the self cleaning is awsome too. They say you have to replace the blades after about a year for around $50. I don't care, I spent that much on expensive razors. The fact is, it's not quite as close as a razor blade shave, but it's damn close. I can live with it. I give the 9000 series 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!
Having spent more than a year with this shaver, I've come to know it pretty well. Here's my take on it.This is clearly intended for people who shave either every day, or every other day. When it first arrived, it had been 3 days since my last shave, and this shaver tugged, yanked, and left me with a very patchy shave that I had to rescue with a manual razor. Not being able to use it while it's plugged-in is annoying. Back in 2005, I bout another Norelco for half the price of this one, and it could shave and charge simultaneously. On the topic of charging, I shave every other day, and an average charge lasts me about 2 weeks. An average shave takes me about 10 minutes, uses up about 10% of the battery, and the battery loses 1% charge per day that it sits idle. A full charge takes about an hour. They tell you to let the shaver run all the way down between charges, so I have to assume it must have a Nickel-based battery, rather than a Lithium-based battery.I find that this gives smoother results if used in the shower, and with shaving cream.I have very coarse, fast-growing facial hair. I can grow a full beard in a week. This shaver does give me smoother results than a safety razor. However, it requires a lot of work and multiple passes. Thankfully, you can really press this shaver into your skin without any irritation resulting, but unfortunately you kind of need to in order to get close and smooth. The shaver started asking me to replace the blades at almost exactly the 1 year mark. A cleaning fluid cartridge lasted me about 2 months, but you can clean it just as well in the sink. The cleaning cycle in the stand takes something like 3 hours, but I can clean it by hand in 30 seconds.Perhaps, most importantly, more expensive does not mean better. I learned this the hard way. My previous Norelco was half the price, and a better shaver. This one is slower, more delicate, more fiddly, and doesn't offer any real tangible advantages over the cheaper models I've used. It still gives a good shave, but you can get the same shave for less. The stand just takes up a lot of space and doesn't do anything terribly useful. The travel case looks nice, but this thing popped apart while traveling, and I had to figure out how to snap the case back together.Overall, it's good, but I'd say to get a cheaper model.
Dave in Texarkana
Had an older model Norelco, same design, for about 8 years - had replaced the head twice. Last aftermarket head I purchased on Amazon late 2017 pulled hair but did not cut - full Amazon refund, perfect customer service. Decided on a new unit compared to cost of OEM replacement heads and that my old unit was starting to make unusual noise, I assumed was from at least one drive shaft starting to loosen and vibrate signaling a failure at some point. This unit met all the specs as advertised. The battery life so far is demonstrated as less than even my older unit at 8 years, however you should get a good 10 shaves or more from a charge. I am very particular regarding care of rechargeable batteries from training and experience so I feel I give a reliable review on battery performance. The shave: well, it's not as pristine as advertised nor per many reviews, IMHO. I have very fine hair, so not a challenge for the razor, just to get it to stand up. However, shaving every day, I am working on stubble so standing up is not a problem. I've researched extensively to discover reliable techniques on use of a rotary shaver. The only way I get 'smooth' is to press overly hard. I have sensitive skin and I believe this razor is a bit less irritating than my 'old', but I attribute that to new blades. For the price point and performance, this razor is really no better than my 'old' one or others I've tried, so the bang for the buck is moderate at best - thus the 3 stars. I do believe it is as good as any of them out there, but no better. I would have preferred to buy without the charging/cleaning system to save cash. I've had that before, they are not reliable nor set the razor up for improved performance. This one's system is still in the box, there were no improvements over the ones I've tried before. Simple separation of the blades and good washing after every use is sufficient.I do like that the blade system completely removes on this model versus just tipping open as on my last one. That makes it much easier to clean. It is a bit particular to line up to get it secured back on the base unit, but that gets a bit better with practice. The travel case is fairly nice and I use it a lot in business travel. The lack of side burn trimmer is annoying and not practical to carry the separate unit. The 'old' one I had they had incorporated a trimmer in the unit and should have on this one too, again IMHO.I cannot recommend this unit at its price point. I've not had great success with foil/Braun in the past, but will probably switch to try that the next time I need to replace this unit. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to send over questions if you like.
I used the older style Norelco for many years (e.g. 3000 and 4000 series). I always thought about getting the more expensive top of the line razors but wasn't sure it was worth the cost. I bought the 9700 and went for the best one because Amazon had such a good deal on it. Now that I've had both, I'm not sure I'd buy the more expense models. The 9700 does glide across my face better and seems to miss less hairs. However I don't feel like it shaves as close. The cheaper heads seem to have a thinner casing which means closer shave, but I did have to go over my face more often to get all hair. The top cover that holds the heads in the 9700 has more material around the outside of the head, so it's harder to shave around my nose and sideburns because the blade isn't close to the end of the cover. Hard to explain, but I felt it was easier to tell where the blade was with the cheaper model. I also miss the convenience of having the trimmer built in. It's a pain snapping off the razor to add the trimmer, but the trimmer does seem a little wider with the 9700. The best part of the 9700 is the battery level indicator. I haven't used the cleaning kit but don't feel it's important. The blades for the 9700 rinse better and leave almost no hair stuck around the blades. For me, the best razor would be combination of the older and new styles. Unless you have money to spare, I think you'd be just as happy with the cheaper models. If you can find a model that uses the HQ9 blades, they're the best.
5-WAHL PROFESSIONAL 8061-100 5-STAR SERIES SHAVER SHAPER
There is nothing wrong with the old school. But if you can combine the old school with the new school technology, then you are in something.
Enter the Shaper Shaper of the Wahl 5-star 8061-100 series. The shaver
has a classic look that dates back to the 1950s due to its rectangular case and a large on/off button that is impossible to miss. And it comes with wide-bladed razor blades.
Of course, any review of the best electric razor to shave head would not be complete without something from Wahl, whose products have drawn attention for a good reason (that is, they are of high quality).
Let’s take a closer look at the 5-Star series shaver:
- You’ll like the versatility of the 8061-100. It is excellent for our main purpose here: to shave the head, but it is useful to shave the face, the neck, and the beard if so desired.
- Lightweight and easy to handle.
- It’s affordable.
- You can use it with or without cable, and its hypoallergenic shaving blade makes it suitable for any type of skin.
- You will get a close shave with the Wahl 8061-100 without the need to apply a ton of pressure.
- The aluminum head makes it easy to cut out temples and beard.
Another reason for you to like the 5-star Wahl series razor is that it works well with different types of hair, from super fine to thick and thick. That said, it’s not ideal for trimming the longer hair.
Questions & Answers
is this a good shaver for african americans?
What I've learned is that every African American beard is NOT the same. You have to give it a shot yourself to determine what's best for YOU and almost have to ignore everyone who tells you what does and doesn't work. Having said that, although I think the Magic Shave powder works best for me, it's very inconvenient. The Wahl shaver is the best runner up that I've found and have been using it for over a year. This is the first time I'm not even considering an alternative. If you give it a shot, you should wait after 2 weeks before deciding if it works because it takes about that long for your hair to adapt. AND I also have to use a trimmer prior to shaving because the shaver only works on micro short hairs. I'm in my 40's and only recently found something that works best for me so the best of luck to you.
Is this as good as the 8061? What are the differences?
I spoke to WAHL directly about this. This model can ONLY be used after it has been charged. This was done to be compliant in California. The 8061 model can be used after it has been charged OR while plugged in to an electric outlet.
Is this strong enough to cut a long thick beard or do you have to trim down first with another razor then use this one??
Unfortunately no, you have to already have it shaved down to about stubble. It can't cut long hair.
Do you deliver to brazil - são paulo - sp?
Our apologies, at this time we do not ship to Brazil.
Any guy can use This shaver but I am speaking specifically to African-American men. I am a 49 year old African American male, and I can guarantee you I've tried too many types to name.Anyhow, this shaver quite frankly CANNOT cut you. Even better than that, if you are prone to shaving bumps, this shaver promotes better quality shave (without razor bumps), so long as you follow these steps:1). Do not press the shaver against you face too hard2). Try your best to shave WITH the grain of your hair3). Try NOT to go back over the same area too much4). Use Witch Hazel immediately afterwards (Can be used on both head & face)This shaver saves me $20.00 a week, $80.00 a month, about $1,000 a year from going to a Barber.Additionally, I still use a regular razor on my face, but only to get that "baby butt" smoothness. This makes my razors last longer, which also saves $$$.*Tip - I shave my head and face twice a week so that the hair isn't too long. This enables you to not have to go back over the same shaved area too often.
I can't use a razor. I can't use a regular electric shaver. I have Eczama. I use Magic Shave depilatory, which BURNS the hair off of my face. My barber one day accidentally used this particular shaver on my face and neck. I let him, but deep down I was panicking because I thought I would break out. I didn't. So I bought one. It works, and I can use it in between the depilatory with out a break out.
Initially I was very impressed with its performance - very close shaves, just like what is printed on the shaver: "Super Close".However, after using it for a month, I'm not that impressed. The main reason is that there is no trimmer which can be an issue since this shaver really does do a very close shave as they claim but sacrifices cutting anything longer than around 1/32" - - After using it a few weeks, it would miss a few hairs and so a few weeks down the road, these missed hairs would never be cut, and so by that time I had a couple of dozen uncut hairs. The only solution was to use some other shaver or a trimmer. My conclusion is this is not something you would want to use without also having some sort of trimmer.
New baldy here. Tried 4 other shavers before buying this one. I've had it now for a few months and there is nothing that cuts closer than a razorblade itself. It holds a charge for about 7 x 15 minute shaves before it's died down enough that I notice performance decreasing. I use ElectraShave with the shaver so that it doesn't gum up. I do find it best to clean the blades after each shave does indeed make things work better with each cut. The shaver is noisier than other shavers, but I'm ok with that, I'm not sneaking around shaving. Grips well and easy to operate. I do love that it works even with the cord plugged in too.
6-Philips Norelco AT810
Now, let’s take a look at some rotary knife shavers. The Philips Norelco AT810 is an intermediate model that should take good care of your head. Super Lift Cut technology lifts shorter hair and cuts it under the skin.
- Reliable for dry and wet shaving
- Easy to clean with running water
- Fully charged lithium-ion battery in one-hour Supplies 50 minutes of wireless shaving
- The double precision shaving system built into this shaver saves you the hassle of trimming the longer hairs to the same length before shaving.
With a name like Norelco you know what you are getting. They have a good shaver that last a long time and your price is based on the perks that it has. With my experience I have seen no difference with quality between Remington, or Philips.I do love the charging dock so that's why I opted for this model. This is my second one since my son commandeered my last one.If you have an outlet near your sink I would recommend the models with the doc. It will always have a full charge and you don't have to look for it in the drawer. Not 5 stars until someone really makes an electric razor that cuts as close as a blade.
Because I'd had good experiences with two earlier Philips Norelco shavers similar to this, I bought this in March of 2017. It worked quite well, until June of 2018, when the on/off switch began misbehaving. The shaver would run momentarily, then stop, or not start at all. I contacted Philips, and they sent me a new shaver, which I transferred the head to. This has been working fine, so far. However, my 'back-up' shaver, a Model AT814, purchased 9/22/12, has now gone dead, with the same problem; this is NOT battery-related. I had a much older Norelco, inherited from my Dad; outside of replacing the original batteries with a jury-rigged pair of ni-cads, this shaver lasted roughly 20yrs.!! This one had been made in The Netherlands; the two newer ones came from China. I've also learned that the HQ8 cutters/combs have been discontinued, which all three shavers used. It appears that these types of shavers are also gone from their website. When the newly purchased blades need replacement, I'll be changing brands...
This is my 4th floating head Norelco shaver in almost 20 years. The battery life in the 4100 model is exceptional. I have been getting at least 12 shaves per charge. Besides a smooth shave, I really like how the Norelco does not have that annoying buzz like the foil shavers I have owned. I would choose Norelco every time.
A couple years back i thought it was "time for a change" and after years with this kind of familiar Norelco 3-head design I instead changed to some straight electric razor instead. When I first started with it, it was new and exciting- as exciting as electric razors can get, I guess...But over time I started thinking how much longer it was taking me to shave than it used to. When the time was coming to replace the heads (or the razor) I went ahead and figured I'd go back to the Norelco types I had been used to before.Wow, what a difference. It takes my maybe one third to one quarter the time it was taking me to shave with the old electric I had been using. This design catches so much more hair on the first pass it's sad to think of the hours I wasted with the old one.The only reason this doesn't have 5 stars is there is no "base" unit to keep this standing tall when charging- like every other Norelco I ever owned had. Instead the charging cord going directly into the power port- it's not the end of the world but something I didn't even think to look for when deciding which model to purchase.
7-Philips Norelco QC5580
Then the QC5580 / 40 is included in this list. This is definitely one of the others. It features a 180 degree swivel head with a comfortable and compact grip for a perfectly smooth shave.
Philips Norelco QC5580 Features
- 180 degree rotary shaving head
- 14 built-in length settings
- 60 minutes of use with a single load
- The blades of the stainless steel trimmer are own -installed sharpened
- shaving head attachment to shave the head
You will not find others like the QC5580 / 40. This is essentially a compact set of trimmers with a built-in length guide. You can adjust the trimmer to meet your needs.
Choose between a length of 0 and 19/32 inches. When you go to shave your head, simply add the head shaving attachment for a simple and quick shave.
Questions & Answers
Why has the price gone up almost $100 in just over 2 years!? Blades wore out, no replacement.
price for this model. Thank you
Does it shave/trim with a power cord when the battery charge is low?
Yes, but it recharges very quickly. I shave with three boilers without noticing any loss of power.
Will it work to shave your had completely bald?
can it be used 110/220 volt 50/60 hz
It says in the box 100-240V 50-60 Hz.
I bought them because I was tired of paying $ 20 or more per week for a poor quality hairdresser to give me a standard haircut that I could do myself. Note to others: from the beginning you will not make beauty cuts. You have to practice, practice, practice! I probably had between 5 and 6 haircuts (the first two resulted in me getting bald) before I got down to work and could make decent haircuts. The rotating blade helps A LOT! It is much easier to simply rotate the blade the way you need to cut off any side of your hair. It also comes with various accessories for shaving, hair length, combs, precision blades, etc. Honestly, it was a good business, especially because it is rechargeable and the battery lasts a long time. Definitely worth trying at least. Today I make a quick cut and shave before going to some functions, because the rotating blade is a lifesaver. I had a Panasonic electric shaver before this and the man made him suck. This thing blows out of the water.
I shave my head like a timepiece, every two weeks. So far I have used a traditional hairdresser's package, cord and 1-attachment. I was excited about the prospect of the "easy-maneuver" wireless model, as well as the ability to get a blade close shave. It is a five-star review for the buzz. It was faster, more efficient and easier than ever to shave my head. I thought that was great. But then I exchanged the razor accessory for a nice, clean head. No luck. It made my head irregular and would have taken ten steps to even get close to success. I had to switch to a razor with a straight blade to finish the job. I look forward to continuing to buzz with my head with this easy to hold and operate device; but unfortunately, not such luck with a clean finish.
The hair clipper works well. They are fairly versatile because I can use them to trim my beard and shave my head. The battery died on my third use, but the ability to use it while connecting is a big advantage. The only negative is that the user's guide was only made with images (I think they wanted to save on translation costs.) Unfortunately, it was difficult to interpret some of the information they were trying to convey with the images. Or maybe I'm just not smart enough.
Exactly what I needed. African American man, needed something that worked for shorter sides for a bald look, this works perfectly. It also shaves my neck well without ingrown hairs. Have not tried shaving the face and it will never be - not worth the risk of irritation. I shave with Andis t-outliners and then pass with a razor. Worth the money.
8-BlueFire 5 Blade Rotary Shaver
The Bluefire shaver is an excellent solution for shaving the head and face. What I like about this razor is that the price is less than $ 100 and comes with 5 rotating blades. The blades are really arched and bent down on your face and head when shaving for a close shave.
Therefore, it will follow the outline of your head and face. Keep the blades in contact at all times for a clean shave.
Features of the BlueFire 5 Blade rotary razor
- It is waterproof, which makes it nice to do double the time in the shower if desired and makes it easy to clean under the tap without having to worry about ruining the unit. This also allows you to moisten shaving with shaving foam and where other types of shavers do not.
- If you’ve traveled a lot, you know how frustrating it is when your razor turns on your suitcase to handle your luggage and the battery runs out when you use it the next morning. There is a sweet travel lock feature that is included to avoid that.
Now this is where this bad boy separates from the others. The engine runs at 22000 rpm! While it is fast, it is designed to cut the hair of the beard between 3-5 mm or .12-.2 inches. If it’s bigger than that, you’ll first want to use a beard trimmer and then go.
You have to plan between 10 and 12 hours for the first charge. A price that you pay with a fast engine.

Bought this and I'm very pleased so far with performance. The Battery last a long time and it cuts the hair about as close to being expected with a rotary shaver. It does require cleaning after each shave to keep it working in good order. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to be bothered with using Shaving Cream and a Blade. I will add it is recommended that your hair be no more than 5mm in length when using for the first time.

Product has really simplified the process of shaving my head. It works great for me.
I got this for my husband because he needed a new head for his last one but they don't sell them anymore. He uses these strictly for shaving his head. So he picked this one. This is his third brand. He likes this one. He says he has no complaints and would buy from this vendor again.
This product has been very efficient and comfortable. It has made my bald head shaving a joy. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to keep their bald head looking smooth.
9-Bald Eagle Smart Skull Shaver
There is a new child in the block that allows you to hold the shaver in the palm of your hand and shave your head. The skull and face shaver is easy to use and uses the same movement as if you were rubbing a lotion on your head. With over 1000 comments you can definitely trust this guy!
The bald eagle knife makes it easy for children to shave their heads with large rotating blades. It has 5 blades that make it easy to cover a large area quickly while following the contour of your head with flexible heads. You will get approximately 90 minutes of shaving time and it only takes a couple of hours to load.
What really makes it different is the handle, so you can shave your head more easily than a vertical handle, like in 730 or 830 of norelco, for example. It is easy to clean under the tap when finished.
It is not always able to get as close as using a blade, but when used together with one, is much easier to keep my head shaved down bald.Update: 1/30/2013Have been using the shaver nearly daily since I first opened it. I have found that with regular cleaning, daily use & a razor touch-up about twice a week, I can easily keep my head shaved down bald. So far, using only a cocoa butter cream, I have had no razor burn or dry patches. I am not a naturally balding person, so I put the blades through a pretty good workout & so far they have held up really good. Will try to remember to update this if I ever have to get new blades (if that is even an option).Update: 2/5/2013 (Upgrade to 5 stars)While washing out the heads, I let the middle one slip from my hands & down the drain. Pulled the pipe, but it was light enough that the water must have pushed it on through. I sent an E-mail on a whim to see if they would be willing to sell me just the center head, so I would not need to purchase the entire piece. Within an hour, I had a response from, John Lyles, who is Skull Shaver's inventor & partner, that a new head was being shipped to me & no worries. I love that kind of customer service, where they get the WOW factor from me. Just another reason that I recommend this product.
This might be lengthy. Overall, i do enjoy this shaver quite a bit. it is comfortable to hold, easy to use and provides a good clean cut- when it works. the first two months i had it and never had an issue. Then one day it was loud, turning slowly and eventually locked up and would lot run. I popped the blade off and the motor worked flawlessly with nothing attached. I did some googling and found a page about taking the four outer blades off and cleaning them out. Once you do this, you will know first hand that the manufacturers claim of running it in water for a few seconds does not do anywhere near a good enough job. After i cleaned it out i got a few more shaves and it happened again. I ordered the replacement 2 pack of blades and the first shave went well once again. That blade locked up on about the third shave with it(I am not trying to cut long hairs with it at all by the way). At this point i was pretty frustrated because I'm deployed and cannot quickly send and receive package to rectify the purchase. Since the blade didn't work at all at this point, i figured i would take the thing completely apart and see what i could do. Come to find out, running it in water for a few minutes DEFINITELY does not do the job of cleaning well. the middle portion was completely full of hair and was all gummed up from whatever oil they have in there from the manufacturer and a few of the gears that turn the outer blades were gummed up and stuck- hence the entire things locking up. All blades run off the central blades momentum. I cleaned out all of the hair and did my best to get rid of the nasty oil, it looks like they use a really thick lubricant that gummed up quickly. I put it back together with a small amount of basic mineral oil, nice and light and doesn't gum up( same exact thing as Wahl clipper oil). I have only used it one time since then, but it was by far the best cut I've had from it yet! So while it seems silly to pay so much for something that you have to rebuild the blades on straight from the manufacturer, it really is a great base unit- the blades just could be put together better.***For me, using lectric shave with this makes it a better experience as well***
10-HEADBLADE ATX ALL TERRAIN HEAD RAZOR
The first thing someone will ask is why you bought a toy.
What happens with the ATV toy in your bathroom? , he or she will say.
But that’s what happens with the HeadBlade ATX All Terrain Head Head shaver: it looks like a toy, it comes packaged in a way that would make a child dizzy to find it under the Christmas tree and, to be honest, it seems fun
The thing is, however, it’s a razor that works.
A razor that comes with two wheels in front, a blade in the back and a body that resembles an all-terrain vehicle.
Pretty good, huh?
And, yes, it looks good, and it’s different than any shaver you’ll see. But it’s not a novelty, this is a blade that works.
Here’s the other thing: unlike other razors, which you pull on your scalp, you push the Head Head ATX All Terrain Head razor.
Let’s break it down:
First, let’s clear up any confusion. The HeadBlade ATX All Terrain Head shaver is a standard razor, not an electric razor. It uses double rotating blades and can be used to shave other parts of your face and body (you will only have to adjust the blade so that it is oriented in the opposite direction).
Yes, you could use a standard disposable razor, but one of the many advantages of ATX HeadBlade is that you do not have to use many short movements to get the job done. Instead, you can perform longer and more uniform movements without applying considerable pressure.
The wheels? Of course, not only are they to show, but they are designed to follow the outline of your scalp while taking those beautiful and smooth strokes.
I have used a couple different versions of the headblade over the years and this one is by far my favorite design. The headblade brand razors that accompany this particular version (4 blade design) are also quite nice and last a long time before dulling. I use this to shave my head and my face and a disposible blade will last me atleast a week of daily shaves sometimes longer.I lost my headblade a while ago and decided to go back to using normal handled disposible razors. Did this for a while, 2 blade, 3 blade, 4 blade, 5 blade... Nothing compares to the design and function of this on my head. I decided to go back to headblade.Great product, surprised there isn't much competition but I think it would be hard to beat so perhaps that's why. Also I am not paid by headblade and have never gotten anything free from them. This is my honest review.
I'm so glad I tried this. I've never been able to shave my head until I found this "Razor Car", as my son calls it. The apparatus is cool, convenient and practical. It gets close but not too close. The blades are good too. I'm a black dude with very course hair so I had to change to blade after 3 weeks of usage. That's okay as it is expected. My head feels good, clean and razor bump free. No other razor shall touch this head. Nope!
I'll start by saying the concept of the Head Blade is amazing. You put your finger through the hole on top and it is contoured to fit your hand perfectly. Then all you have to do is run your hand over your head from front to back on top or bottom to top on back and sides. It is comfortable to wear and the motions are much more natural than a standard razor. That being said, the blades are awful. I just can't get a close enough shave with the head blade to make it my go to razor. I still use it occasionally for quick jobs, but when I want a smooth shave, I have to use my Gillette. If they can fix the problem with the blades, I'd use this every time.
Initially I did not like this at all. Even scheduled a return. Figured I would at least use up the razor while I had it. Tired out that I loved it. I use it to shave my head. With my Old razor I started at the crown and shaved down. Front and back. With this I can start at the neck and go all the way to my forehead. It makes the shave faster. I think at first I was pressing to hard and starting at the crown. Using it a bit helps out. It can be difficult to hold. But gets easier over time. The reason for the four stars is that the blade is hard to change. Watched the video on their website to make sure I wasn't going to break it. The design makes it look like a toy. Need to make sure to put it away so kids won't play with it.
HOW THE BEST HEAD SHARPENER HAS BEEN SELECTED
While we investigate a lot, there simply is not enough time to test every head shaver in the market. But, rest assured, we did our homework. Finding the best electric razor took into account several factors, including personal experience and the opinions of customers.
We trust our selections, and believe that any of the products mentioned above will provide you with the kind of clean, clean shave you want (and deserve).
Foil and Electric razors
The main choice you will have with electric razors is the design you want. Some people prefer a metal-style razor, while others prefer a rotary-style razor.
Foil: The electric blade shaver contains oscillating blades that move back and forth at high speeds. These blades are covered with protectors that lift the hair to cut it and protect the skin. A razor blade will often have some separate cutting blades that flex independently to fit the contours of your face. However, because a foil head has a rectangular shape, it may not match your face, as well as with a rotating razor.
Rotary: The rotary shaver has round blades that rotate. It will receive protection from the rotating blades with a grooved guard that is placed over the blades and helps lift the hairs so they are easier to cut. The heads are flexed in multiple directions, allowing you to shave strongly by hugging the contours of your face. However, the rotating heads are more difficult to clean after shaving compared to the shaver.
The Final Word
For your comfort and safety, be sure to carefully follow the instructions for each model. You want to make this as simple as possible. Take a warm shower first, so that your hair follicles are lifted and cut more easily. If you get one of the best electric razors for bald spots, your morning routine can be as easy as shaving and walking.
