Is this one for leftys?

They are right handed scissors. Just got them in and hope they work. But I'm a left-hander. It's really frustrating when people make false advertising.

My ring finger is size 12. Can these be used by someone with large fingers?

It is possible, since only the tip of your finger is needed to maneuver and operate the scissors.

Will these give split ends?

I am a professional cosmetologist. I did not purchase THESE scissors, but cutting will not cause split ends. If you cut it right, the split ends will be removed by cutting your hair. Split ends happen for a variety of reasons. About using hot irons and blow dryers, chemical processing (colors, bleach, perms, pool chemicals), pulling your hair too hard when wet, brushing too much, using the wrong kind of brush (I recommend a boar bristle brush) , not moisturizing, sun and wind damage. Good, sharp professional scissors are best for cutting hair. The best way to prevent split ends is to be gentle on your hair when it's wet. Hydrate your hair with a good conditioner with a PH between 4.5 and 5.5. When blow-drying your hair, use a lower heat setting and don't dry it out completely, leave it a little damp if possible. Do not brush your hair too long. Sleep on silk pillows. Silk causes less friction and therefore less damage. Don't wash your hair every day. Some natural oils are good for your hair and hard water and high alkaline shampoos will dry out and damage your hair leaving it weak and brittle. Give hair a break between coloring and perming. They are very harmful to your hair. If you have to undergo a chemical treatment, make sure to use a deep conditioning treatment afterwards to restore the moisture content of the hair. I hope this information helps you to have happier and healthier hair. Watch out, Dee☺️

where manufactured

I just received this item and it is NOT manufactured in Japan as one person stated. It clearly states on the packaging that it is "Designed by Equinox International in New York/Responsibly Manufactured in China". It may be "Japanese steel" but it doesn't say anywhere on the packaging that this is the case.

is this tsa approved?

People who say these have a 6.5" blade are wrong. The GENERAL LENGTH is 6.5", that's how a pair of scissors is specified, and it's even in the title of the product. The blade length is less than 3" from the pivot point. I don't know about the TSA, but there are so many authoritative but incorrect answers here, you wonder if any of them actually own the scissors, and if they do why they can't see the difference between ~2.8 & 6.5+ inches.

Has anyone used these for a period of time with good results? Thanks for any advice!!1

They were super sharp at first, but after only using 3 times for haircuts, they are completely dull. Don't know how to sharpen them if they are made to be sharpened. I tried my knife sharpener (handheld) on it, but it didn't seem to have any effect.

I dropped mine. Any instructions on how to get the shears back to new. The blades cut different.

Try to tighten the screw. It should rotate with only your fingers.

Whats the length on these

The blades are approximately 2 3/4" and approximately 6 7/8" in total (including the finger hook-type remainder). They are extremely sharp and of very good quality.

Do they have a case?

Not a case, but the molded plastic it came in is very durable so I use it as a case. Works well. This product is really great.

Are these thinning shears? I can't tell from the pictures.

These are extremely sharp hair clippers that do not thin. You can go with the set and have both. They are the best I have found and are very easy to care for.
