I have to cut my son's hair while he is sleeping. Will the clipper combs help ensure that I am cutting the same length each time?
Karen, With the comb attached, you cannot cut shorter than the length of the comb (1/2" for the #1 comb to 1" for the #6 comb). However, if you keep the hair out while you cut, it will cut a little shorter than if it just flows into the comb. So we recommend that you do your first cuts with a longer comb and then switch to a shorter comb to even things out. Sincerely, Matthew Michel
Do these work on african-american textured hair? i've never had a barber use scissors on my hair but i'm willing to try for my son.
Honestly don't know. My son has fine, straight hair. Looking at the YouTube video, it seems that these scissors work quite well with textured hair. The scissors work just like clippers, only your hand does the cutting.
Can I get extra accessories for cutting the hair longer? Like the number 8 that comes with clippers.
We don't wear them yet, but plan to soon. You can buy those made for electric clippers. If you email us, we can confirm compatibility. The standard size clippers, like most WAHL clippers, have compatible combs: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UZEQK0
how well do these work on thick curly hair?
I can only confirm that I use them on straight hair. But I do wet the hair so it gets "thick" and it works really well. I do all the haircuts in the bath. The teeth on the guides are quite wide so I would think it would go through curly hair quite well.
Does the calming clipper make a clipping/snipping sound, like other scissors?
Yes, they make scissors sounds like regular scissors
Does it come with the safety scissors?
We sell a package with Safety Scissors and also a package without so that you can choose for yourself.
Are there longer attachments than 1” available?
Yes, it comes with 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6"
Does it comes with the safety scissors for trimming?
There are three packs: 1 containing only the Calming Clipper Kit 2 Calming Clipper Kit + the Safety Scissor 3 Calming Clipper Kit + the Hair Cap
Blades is not sharp, we have to use a lot of force to cut hair. Is that right?
I have not personally experienced this problem. When I cut my child's hair, I usually cut only small amounts of hair with each cut. And I'm also trying to get it over the attachment
Do any of you use it for your autistic daughters?
It would make a cute pixie cut
