In agreement. First of all, I'm from the Middle East. I have very thick black hairs and, sometimes, 3 hairs per pore. I've walked away from Waxers several times, saying they just can not wax me because I'm too hairy and I'll bleed all over and STILL have hair, which is what happened every time I convinced someone to make me wax. So, I've been relegated to shaving with the hope of laser hair removal one day !!! But until then, this is INCREDIBLE. And, so cheap. I thought I might die, sweating in pain and literally salivating him on the first try, but I discovered a way that makes it MUCH LESS DANGEROUS: Here it is, ladies. Take a nice, warm bath. Soak your entire body in the bathroom for at least 25 minutes FIRST before doing anything. Then, once your hair is soft and soft and your pores are wide open, remove each part of the body from the water, foam it with a little foam. And and mild soap and then go to the city with your epilator. This reduces the pain by at least 60% for me, and I'm the hairiest girl you'll ever meet. I mean, I have hairs in parts of parties that you did not even have any idea that they had hair follicles. Therefore, take a bath. Soften, foam, then go to the city. It does MUCH better and, after a couple of times, you will not have any pain!

I actually paid for this, if that matters to anybody. It did affect my opinion when I was reading reviews because I feel like people who receive something for free are much more likely to give higher ratings than they may have.First off. I only got this a week ago. If my opinion changes, I'll update my review to reflect my views. There is also a lot to review with this, so I'm going to give reviews of the attachments as well as an overall opinion.OVERALLThis thing hurts. I am not one to avoid wishing ill will upon people I dislike, but I don't think I would wish this sort of pain upon my worst enemy. Oh, I read the advice columns. I tried a shot of vodka. NSAIDs. After exfoliation. In the shower. After a shower. Completely dry. Wet. Pulling my skin as taut in every direction possible. Leaving my skin be. Going slowly. Going quickly. I didn't try numbing cream, but I think I'm going to next time. The pain from this was worse than getting my tattoo and getting it removed--possibly worse than the combined pain of both. My hair is very thick and coarse (I'm pretty sure I'm half-Sasquatch; my skin is glow-in-the-day white and my hair is very dark), so maybe that's why it caused me so much grief. I ended up having to stop halfway through and finish up the next day. I was dripping sweat from the pain. There was a little blood. It wasn't enough to make me cry, but it was extremely uncomfortable. Each of my hair follicles was bright red after, and my skin was extremely warm to the touch. If I could have walked around without pants for the rest of the evening, I would have. Sadly that wasn't an option, so I put on some PJs and stayed as still as possible until I went to bed. That said, it may be the best worst thing I've ever put myself through. My hair normally becomes quite visible after 2-3 days, and I'm still relatively hair free. Some hairs did break off at the skin and they are becoming visible (more slowly than with shaving), but I am impressed with how smooth my skin is. Assuming that the hair comes back even remotely finer and/or sporadically enough to reduce the pain, the process was worth it. I am way too lazy to shave regularly. If this cuts down my need to remove my hair down to 2-3 times a month AND gives me an excuse to binge-watch a few episodes of bad TV while doing so, I'll deal with the pain.PURPLE/MASSAGING ATTACHMENT (5/5)This attachment is the best. It lets you get closest to your skin, so it can catch shorter hairs. I used this when possible. I even tested it on my chin because the sensitive/narrow opening head didn't do anything. I don't really think the rollers helped at all (maybe it helps people with thinner/finer hair?), but the closeness helps a lot. Short hair (but not overly short--the .5 mm claims on the box seem VERY generous to me, and I'd recommend having at least 1-2 mm) was still an issue overall, but most of what I had got taken off without too much issue. Besides the pain, of course.ARMPIT ATTACHMENT (5/5)You can't get quite as close with this attachment, but it is easier to use around awkward curves like your armpits. Warning to people who try to epilate their underarms: Be prepared for blood. Again, my hair is coarse and I have sensitive skin, but my pits were not happy at all. Several of my follicles were bleeding by the time I finished. The small surface area was the one relief because I managed to get each of them done in only a minute or two. Also, I have zero hair growth as of yet, and I usually need to shave my underarms every couple of days.NARROW/SENSITIVE ATTACHMENT (2/5)This thing is kind of useless for me. The hole is narrow to avoid catching your skin (which I didn't have any issues with whatsoever, even with the open attachments), but the plastic is so thick that it's hard to get short hairs. I get some hairs on my chin that I wanted to epilate, but this was useless for that. Unless your hairs are already somewhat long (thus quite visible), it won't help you with much.SHAVER ATTACHMENT--with and without trimmer head (4/5)This is alright for trimming. It isn't as good as a dedicated trimmer because you can't get as much hair at once, but it does its job pretty well. With the trimmer head, it brings hair down to about half a centimeter or so. Without the trimmer head, it gets pretty short--almost down to the skin. I found this to be a bit too short for the epilator, so I would suggest either holding it a bit away from your skin or using the trimmer cover if the hair you want to epilate is very long.STAND (?/5)I'm not really going to leave my epilator out all of the time, especially since I will supposedly only need it once or twice a month, so I'm not giving a review of this. It's a stand. It stands things.FACIAL CLEANSING BRUSH (3/5)I'm a little disappointed in this. I make my own facial products (moisturizers, exfoliators, cleansers, etc.), and I was hoping that this might be something to either add to or replace my homemade exfoliators. I'll use it until the batteries run out or the head goes bad, but I doubt I'll keep using it after that. My skin doesn't feel any smoother or cleaner than when I use the products I make myself, and it has a bigger environmental impact thanks to the batteries. If you don't already have a decent product you use for exfoliation, this is okay. But if you have something you're already a fan of, I wouldn't expect miracles.

Please take a look at my photos before and after. I waited until I had a 3-day weekend to try this, so that my hair was long enough to remove it. I'm very hairy, so imagine the looks of horror and disgust on the faces of the people I ran into in the store when they saw me, looking like a pint-sized version of Chewbacca. Anyway ... It took me a while to figure it out, but once I did, things went pretty well. I prick my chin hair every weekend, and that process usually lasts between 30 and 45 minutes. Using this, I completed the task in about 10-15 minutes. (I'm sure the next time will be even less than that, now that I know what I'm doing). If you have already pulled the hair from your chin, this will be uncomfortable, but I would not say it is painful. I would use it again, since it consumes much less time than pricking each hair. Cleaning was easy, and so far, my face is not too irritated. (When I finished, I used Lily of the Dessert Aloe Vera Gelly). One of the problems I had was that the manual suggested removing the standard lid and placing the lid on it. The facepiece covers quite a few tweezers, leaving only some (I guess this is because most women only have a small amount of facial hair to remove and do not need all the tweezers). This posed a problem, since the epilator could not grab any of my hairs (except a few lengths). I finished replacing the original cap and then I was able to remove the unwanted hair. As you can see in the photos, YES she removed her hair, but there were still remnants of hair. I had to use my tweezers later, which, since this cost almost $ 100, was a bit disappointing. I really do not think I should have had to go back and remove the hair on my own, when this is supposed to remove the shortest hair. My hair is very thick, so maybe this will work better for someone with fine hair. Maybe next time, I'll try to brush my chin a few more times to see if they'll remove my hair, but since I've never shaved before, I made a conscious effort to run the epilator in each section of my face no more than 3 times. I did not try it on my sideburns, since I wanted to know if I will develop lumps / hairs grown after using this. I will update this review in a few weeks ...

2-Wahl Peanut

Wahl Peanut

It can be a bit difficult to distinguish the many beard trimmers from Wahl, but the only major exception is the company’s trademark Peanut trimmer, Although there is now also a wireless model available, the traditional corded model remains a favorite because of its compact design and reliability.

That same no-pointe sensitivity also extends to accessories of the trimmer, which are definitely more limited than others – only four basic cutting guides of different lengths are included.

Questions & Answers

Are there additional guards available for the peanut? Like a 1.5 maybe?

The only guards for the peanut are what comes with it, a 1.2 and 4 plus a blade cover. No 1.5 knife

Is this good for removing beards

Everything I use on mine. Works well.

Has anyone used this on kids?

yes, you can use it on children. you don't have as many attachments as on a normal size clipper, but if the attachments are absolutely what you are looking for. don't let the small size fool you is a very powerful unit. I know several stylists who use it for trimming and for haircuts

Is this machine good to trim around the neck hair?

For that I would use a conventional razor and shaving foam

I am a victim of too much testosterone in my system while I am in the womb, so I suffer from male pattern baldness. I'm tired of shaving my head. It takes a long time, and I'm tired of buying razor cartridges. This trimmer is great for people like me who want what hair you have left behind as short as possible, without resorting to shaving. It gives a length of about a day of growth, if you really had shaved with a razor. On average, I use it twice a week to ensure that I don't look fifteen years older than me (currently 30). If you are looking for a trimmer to do this, I would 100% recommend this trimmer. Ultimately, if the blades are boring, I will be able to switch them off easily and quickly, unlike many other trimmers. Do yourself a favor and buy this trimmer.

These work perfect for cutting my own Pixie at home. Here's how I do it. Lift the entire crown and attach it in a rubber band to get rid of it. Use the largest peanut cutting comb in downward movements for a scruff-looking neck (or cut up for a close shave look.) Remove the rubber band from your crown. Cut an area of about 4 cm long with scissors that hold the hair upright as if it had static electricity. I did this perfectly the first time I used the Peanut. Four weeks later I felt invincible, I grabbed the shaver, tucked it in, and FORGOTTEN THAT THE COMB TIP WAS ON. Yes, I cut a huge bald spot in the back of my head. Whoo Hoo! I had never laughed so hard in my life. don't sue me if this happens to you.

TEST

It works great and gives you a really good finish to cut your hair the way you want. The reason for giving it 4 stars is that the area where we have attached the clipper is so delegate. Everything became disturbed while I removed the clipper. It took me some time to understand how to solve it, but you have to be extra careful when dealing with changing the clipper. Otherwise it is a small and fun product to try.

First off, I have a beard that could stop a lawn mower. It grows in several directions. In college I won the beard-growing contest in a dormitory that housed 900 men. I've been shaving for decades and have tried all brands of blade (inconsistent and messy), rotary (ouch!), and foil (my fave). Nothing has worked better than this $60 Braun.I've owned shavers costing several times as much - and they didn't perform any better. All the snazzy features on more expensive units are just noise. Swiveling heads that don't allow you any leverage, messy cleaning systems, etc. Save your money and keep it simple. It's just a shave, for crying out loud!At this price, what have you got to lose? If you've always used a razor and want to try an electric, here's a cost-effective chance to give it a try.

One of the best shavers i have purchased ever!Great quality and shave is so smooth.Love that i can use it wet or dry.I have used both rotary and foil.I use the rotary on my bald head and prefer foil on my face.Rotarys get damaged much less easier than the foils, but foils are much better shave.I have tried shaving with regular razor and cream, i dont understand how anyone can waste their time doing that, along with the cost and the mess.Try it for 2 or 3 weeks, you will never go back.

Good shaver. Especially for smaller faces or with face deep features (like jawline, under the nose, etc). Works well on thin hair. Very little skin irritation (if any), even right after the shave. Wet shaving is a HUGE plus. After a few tries (to learn how you hair grow), with good quality shaving cream results are practically indistinguishable from those obtained with manual razor.Update: with experience, use of shaving cream becomes unnecessary, just splash some water on the skin. For really really flat growing hair, dry shaving helps to get better results.1 stars taken away just for one reason - I would like to have a charging stand for this unit.

I have previously used a number of different electric shavers from all brand manufacturers. I bought this razor on offer to replace a Norelco razor that no longer cut so efficiently. I had already used several electric shavers before I knew there would be an adjustment period before I could really see how well it worked. As expected, the first shave was ok but not very close with some missed areas. I continued to use it for the rest of the week and towards the end of the week I quickly got a smooth shave, without having to go over the same area multiple times. The razor is easy to hold and use. The battery will last for a while before it needs to be recharged. The shaver is also fairly quiet. One of the functions that I like best (except for the slimmed shave) is that it is very easy to clean. You simply remove the cutting head, tap the hair and wash it under the tap. A quick brush from the area under the cutting head and you're done. There are no areas under the cleaning head to hide the hair, allowing the brush to come out quickly and easily and show a well thought out design. This is a huge improvement on the Norelco heads that must be taken apart and cleaned every month. You could also clean the Norelco heads under the sink, but in my experience it doesn't work so well. I love the battery indicator on the body and it charges fairly quickly. I don't get wet with electric shavers, so I can't tell how well that works. The razor seems to be of good quality, what I would expect from Braun. I would definitely recommend this razor.

Philips Norelco Multigroom All-In-One Series 3000

Whether you have not yet dedicated yourself to keep your beard for the long-term or just looking for a budget-oriented option, there are plenty of cheap trimmers to choose from. With only $ 16, this multifunctional trimmer from Philips Norelco is the best selling trimmer on Amazon and is largely well rated by those who bought it. Some compromises can be expected in comparison with more expensive models, not the least of which is a shorter duration with each load.

Questions & Answers

I was wondering if this is good for shaving off or trimming the pubic area?

Yes, it can be used for body care. We recommend using a low shielding for sensitive areas.

can you use this for hair

Yes, that is the only function of this device.

What are the voltage ratings for this trimmer?

100-240 Volts and 50/60 Hz

What are the hair cutting guard lengths?

You will probably have to find an adjustable model instead of one with attachments for specific lengths. Philips Norelco does not seem to make a 2 mm mounting for this model. You can try to call Philips Norelco at 800-243-3050.

I used this to shave my entire body and ended up with a big ball of hair the size of my fist. I didn't want anyone to know that I shaved myself so in my panic, I flushed the big hairball down the toilet. This was a mistake as it ended up clogging the drain.Needless to say our entire bathroom floor is flooded with water and a plumber is fixing the toilet as I write this.10/10 would buy again.

Don't spend a bunch of money on a trimmer, this is perfect! I'm a man-scaper and like to stay well groomed, this is the perfect trimmer and more. I use the nose hair adapter and several guards to trim my beard, chest hair, and head hair. It also is a great edger and has a great battery life. My $300 Wella trimmer that was gifted to me finally crapped out and I couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of money on something that I could get for way less. After researching and reading other reviews I decided to buy this and haven't been disappointed since. Great product I got my money's worth and then some. This would make a fantastic gift also.

I got this to replace a Gillette trimmer that died after a few years of use. The Phillips one is great! It was cheaper than what I paid for the old one a couple of years ago and is of a much higher quality. It comes with tons of different heads, and gets the job done. Just a tip, If you're using this for "personal" grooming, be careful! Its sharp. >.>

This trimmer, for the price, cannot be beat. I would easily have paid $50 for this trimmer. The build and feel is solid, sleek and ergonomically comfortable in the hand. It’s also incrediblely good looking. It doesn’t have that cheap plastic, fragile look to it other trimmers do. The nose hair trimming attachment is fantastic, the best I’ve used to date. I use all of the attachments and clips provided.I like to keep my beard at a slightly longer length than just stubble, more “scruffy” if you will. The grey beard attachments glide across the skin well without hurting, and it only takes a few passes to get all the hairs trimmed as the motor is strong. I use the three shortest attachments, as different areas of my facial hair grow in more densely than other areas. When I’m finished, my beard has a picture perfect evenness to it that I know I can replicate every time, which excites me because my appearance is important in my line of work. The hair trimming attachments are the real gem of this product that I did not anticipate using. I wouldn’t have thought to use them until I watched the product video provided. I use the longest length to trim the sides of my head around my ears, as I like to keep my hair longer on top to style it. This attachment cuts it short enough without showing the scalp/skin beneath. I can now extend the length of time between my haircuts which saves me time and money. My only issue with this product is that my hair does not grow fast enough to justify using it everyday. I seriously look forward to turning it on.

Questions & Answers

Can you cut hair with it too

Mainly geared towards stubble and beard. However, if you have short hair, this could possibly work. Some other product, with a multi-functioning aspect, would be a better choice.

Will the trimmer work at full power as soon as you plug it in? Like if the battery is completely dead/running slow and you plug it in

It works straight out of the box. But you have to charge it.

Dropped it by accident. plastic guard broke. any idea where/how i find a replacement? seems like a waste to have to buy a whole new device.

Any available parts/accessories can be found on Philips' parts distribution website, Encompass.

Will this trim neckbeards and sideburns? I want the hairs shorter not completely gone

Yes it does, President Lincoln

I actually paid for this trimmer. Feels a little ridiculous since Philips apparently gives these things away like there's no tomorrow if the sponsored comments are any indication. But rest assured, I actually bought it and owe the manufacturer nothing. So, it's a nice trimmer. When I was shopping around on here, I was mainly concentrating on device maintenance and the versatility of the device without an army of additional attachments. For me, I use a few different settings to trim my beard, longer on my face, closer on the moustache, no guard for shaping. And this thing does a good job. The guard feels fairly stout, like it won't be giving out or cracking anytime soon. The device doesn't appear to be overly needy or anything like that, though the instruction manual for any trimmer will essentially recommend you give the thing a full spa treatment and dinner out at The Palm before and after each use. Very quick charge, one hour will turn the light solid green which (allegedly) will last for two hours of use, though I haven't tested that yet. If all that turns out to be true (and it did fully charge within one hour), I don't think you can get better than that in terms of charge vs. usage. Anyway, the rotating dial that adjusts the guard is fine, certainly nothing to freak about in terms of innovation. Just a little gimmick thing. I guess more than anything the motor on the thing just really tears, so you feel like you're getting a good cut. It's just a nice device, perhaps a little heavy on the price at $40, but quite honestly, you don't have to buy trimmers very often in my experience. Are you going to regret dropping $40 on a device that directly impacts how you like to look and will probably not have to replace for the next five years? Personally, I doubt it. I think there's definite value in the long run. I have no problem cutting corners or going cheap on plenty of other stuff, but why on a beard trimmer? Just seems short-sighted when you're going to use the thing at least a few times a month and on your face.Oh, and the last thing about this thing that I really like is the lack of attachments. It's just one guard/comb trimmer with 20 settings, one mini brush thing for cleaning it, the power cord, and one little bag if you want to use it. I think that's pretty great streamlining, especially if you travel. No one wants to pack like they're going to a barber's convention.

I love the dial-a-depth adjustment and the simplicity of a single comb attachment. I don't want to be storing and changing combs for every different length I want to trim. Its the reason I bought this one. It goes as short as .5 mm, and goes up in .5 mm adjustments from there. But really, once past, say, 2 mm, 1 mm increments would be fine. Though that would be more difficult to do with the way this dial works, so I understand why they didn't.This thing is powerful, the charge lasts a long time, and I just love everything about it. Except for One Thing. And its a big thing for me. The way the comb is designed, you have to hold the device at just the correct precise angle to get it to trim to the exact length the dial is set for. That's not an issue at all if you're using any of the lengths beyond say, 2 mm. Your hair doesn't grow perfectly evenly, so its perhaps a more natural appearance if every hair isn't the exact same length. But if you're using this for one of its signature features, the stubble look, its a huge problem. You dial the comb for .5 mm, but unless you've got it at the exact correct angle, you're really cutting to maybe 1 to 2 mm. So you end up with some parts of your face close to .5 mm, but most of the rest of it somewhere between 1 mm - 2 mm. To get them all close to .5 mm, you have to keep going over and over and over the same areas, each time trying to find that elusive angle to get the full depth of cut. What this replaces is a super cheapo, and old, AA battery powered trimmer with dull blades and a finicky power switch. that thing has this sliding comb that you manually extend to desired length. There are no marks to indicate length, you just guess. It has detents to set the comb at specific positions, but you can easily set it to any spot between those set spots. It can go as short as .5 mm. This old piece 'o junk works way better than this new, much more costly, sophisticated name brand device, all because of the design shape of its comb. The old unit cuts to the length you set. Sure, if you really hold it at an off angle, it cuts a little longer than you have it set for. But the sweet spot, where it cuts to, or very, very close to the length you set it to, is wide. Meanwhile for this Norelco trimmer, the sweet spot is elusive. If you aren't going to use the stubble feature, this thing is excellent. If you are buying it for the stubble feature, be prepared to endure the abrasion, and time, involved in repeatedly going over the same areas over and over, trying to obtain the setting you've dialed in on the knob.

I bought this based on prior reviews, which is a strategy that's worked pretty well for me in the past (thanks Amazon reviews), but this time I'm just leaving than impressed. What can I say about this trimmer?Well . . . it's okay. I mean, it's fine. It works. It trims my beard. It's adjustable. I was hoping the typo in the description that said it was adjustable out to 2 cm was accurate, but it isn't. But I didn't really expect it to be, since there are no beard trimmers out there that think you need your beard to be any longer than 1 cm. That's just the industry apparently, so it's not really a knock against this trimmer in particular. It's pretty loud, I suppose. And it's not waterproof. And the plastic feels kind of cheap and brittle. And the rounded end of the guard doesn't do much to comb or lift hairs in order to trim them. One wonders if they're just being tamped and smoothed down instead. Should help the blade life that way, I suppose. So there's that.So my fiscally calculated step down from my Panasonic to appease my loving other half has not really borne the feature packed fruit I'd hoped it would.I should have expected that from the price. I suppose I technically did, but you're always hopeful that you'll end up being surprised. With this one, you won't. It's exactly the thirty dollars trimmer you'd expect it to be and absolutely no more. It'll trim your beard, but it won't really make you feel good about it.

When my trusty old Norelco was recently commandeered for “sanitary trim” of our cat, I set about looking for an exact replacement. For 20+ years I had my QT4021 and it’s predecessor, which was identical but for the guide color. It was a simple, sturdy, highly-usable design, at a fair price point. I would have thought little more than a lithium battery upgrade was warranted. No such luck. So into the maze of products and reviews I wandered, thinking back to the simplicity of buying my last two off the shelf at Walgreens, sans any starred feedback. I considered ones with vacuums and others meant for beard, body and more and just couldn’t get a clear picture in my head of how they would improve on what i had. So I went simple, and it seems to have turned out well. With the exception of the slightly changed blade angle and the ridiculous half-steps on the dial, I guess this is as close as they make to a direct replacement of my old one. I’m including some comparison photos, on the off-chance you are looking for the same thing I was.

Questions & Answers

I am a new owner of this unit. Is there an effective way to pre-rinse it or spray air to pre-clean? Or is it best to just forego any pre-cleaning?? Any other tips on cleaning? Thanks! Love the razor.

After every use I simply take the top off and tap it in the sink and lightly tap the body in the sink to knock off what I can. Then I snap the top back on and off I go. Then about once a week I hit the clean and charge button. I personally don't clean it with the solution every day as that will get expensive with solution and it's really not necessary. You an also just take the top off and simply rinse it under warm water. I don't like doing that because I don't want to wash away any lubricants that the solution puts on the inner razor parts. That's how I've done it for years and have never had a problem.

Can you shave your head with it

I certainly do (that's what I bought it for). Works great!

Does Braun offer a travel charger for the 790cc (in addition to the less portable charging/cleaning base)?

Your in luck! The razor is a travel machine. Using the same power supply cable that plugs into the charging/cleaning base. Just unplug and plug it into the razor directly. This is also good for times when you need to shave and the razors battery is dead, you can plug in the cord and use it as a corded razor. I recommend cleaning the screens by removing them after you shave and rinse them in warm water and let dry. This is OK by Braun also as a way to clean the foils. Do not use the brush inside the foil as it will have a tendency to harm the foil, just use water!

where does the trimmed hair go or get collected? I have one of these and I noticed the trimmed hair is very fine and hardly collects inside the head.

When you clean the razor in the base, some hair goes into the solution cartridge. I have found that some gather in the base and need to be wiped out or flushed out when you replace the cartridge. I have to do all this for my husband!

As of this writing, i've had the Braun Series 7 for 9 months. This is a long review, so if you need to skip to the most important point, just read the verdict towards the bottom.I always found rotary shavers to be effective at tackling the wirey hair in my light beard. However, it got to the point that I felt the rotary shavers of today felt "cheap," compared to previous generations.Enter the Braun...I purchased a Series 5 and a Series 7. I'll compare this model to the Series 5, as well as to the rotary shavers I used to have.*Why the Series 7?*I got the Series 7 because it is the most-recommended shaver on the planet. This is how I would break-down the differences between them:-Series 1 - Terrible, avoid at all costs-Series 3 - Good starter shaver for teens with thicker skin-Series 5 - Good for light and medium-light skin, does an adequate job with sensitive skin, pivoting head, excellent build-quality. Second most-powerful motor. Not recommended for medium or heavy stubble.-Series 7 - Most-recommended shaver on the planet, good for just about every skin type, has a massaging shaving experience, good features for sensitive skin, good build quality, second-most-powerful motor, replacement heads are wayyy too expensive and justify purchasing the Series 9.-Series 9 - Top-of-the line, has an extra blade compared to the Series 7, excellent build-quality, most-comfortable shave, most-powerful motor, design is based-heavily on the Series 5. Blades are expensive, but may not be as expensive as the Series 7.*Why the 790cc-series?*I purchased this specifically from Amazon, as it seemed to be the only retailer that sold the 790cc series. Therefore, I specifically opted for this "older" generation because it can be used corded and cordlessly. No longer do I have to wait for the shaver to charge, as I can just plug it in. More importantly, when the battery dies, I can still use it corded until the motor dies. I don't have to look into replacing the battery myself, unlike a lot of cordless razors that cannot be used while plugged-in.If you don't know, the Series 7 is probably the most-recommended men's shaver on the planet. Why? A host of reasons, including:-It has been out since 2010-Cool-looking design-A very close shave-A comfortable shave, thanks to the massaging, pulsating motor-A motor that adjusts to your beard-Five power settingsWhy do I diverge from the crowd? Well, the Series 5030 was released in 2012 - a full two years after the Series 7 was released. The changes were so successful that the 5040-series from 2016 was essentially the same - minus the dual power function. The 2015 Series 9 looks practically-identical to the Series 5. I think that says alot, as the Series 7's design didn't carry-over to another model - at least not yet. Here's why I prefer the Series 5.-Cost - This is the mac-daddy of all issues when comparing the 5 and the 7. Not only is this cheaper than the Series 7, but the blades are cheaper as well. The Series 7's most-well-known issue is that the same, high-quality blades that came with your Series 7 are notoriously-difficult to find...so much so, that there is actually price-gouging. While a Series 7 blade could fit on a Series 5 razor, the opposite isn't true, unfortunately.-Design - From an aesthetic POV, I like the Series 5 better. But more importantly, the "locking head" truly locks. The Series 7's perhaps second-most well-known issue is that the lock will break with normal usage, which isn't covered under the warranty.-Build quality - I found that Series 5 felt more substantial than the Series 7. I already thought that the Series 7 had great build quality, but the Series 5 beats it in my honest opinion. Both the 5 and 7 are miles-ahead of anything low-to-mid-grade from Norelco, and slightly edges-out their highest-grade options.-Grip - I can get a firmer grip on the Series 5 than the Series 7-Indicator lights - The Series 7 has a hard-to-read LCD screen, which shows the battery and hygiene levels...except the hygiene monitor doesn't work by detecting cleanliness...the only thing that it detects is how long it has been since you cleaned it in the cleaning station. In other words, the hygiene indicator is a cash-grab. The Series 5, on the other hand, has LED lights that don't require ambient light to see clearly. Only a waterdrop icon appears when it says it needs to be cleaned - I just ignore it.-Beard trimmer - I find that the Series 5's beard trimmer is designed better and less-likely to break.-Cord placement - the power port is located at the back of the Series 7, which means that the unit has to be face-down when you charge it. If you had a corded model, it makes shaving with the cord very awkward. The Series 5 power port, on the other hand, is located on the bottom - so you can charge it from any angle you want.-Travel lock - The Series 5 has one; the Series 7 doesn't. The Series 7 tries to make up for this by making the power button recessed and thereby more difficult to press.I would concede the following points to the Series 7-Power button location - The series 5's power button is located in an awkward situation. So when you first start shaving, don't be surprised if you accidentally turn it off. Annoying, but with a bit of practice, you'll overcome this.-More comfortable shave - I like the pulsating shave-Quicker shave - It takes less time and effort, compared to the Series 5-Power Levels - You can choose one of five power levels. For someone with a light, sensitive beard, this is great and I definitely notice a difference.*Shaving Experience*As previously mentioned, I have a light beard - so anything over the Series 5 is overkill for me. Since beard types are different, I would recommend at least the Series 7 if you have at least a medium beard. The shave with the Series 5 is adequately-comfortable, but does take more passes than the Series 7 or Series 9 to get their same level of closeness.*Should I upgrade to the Series 7?*The short answer would be that it depends on the thickness of your beard, as well as your skin sensitivity. For the longer answer is, if you can find a great deal, just go with the Series 9. You may pay more for the razor, but it'll even itself out by the cheaper blades.*Is the cleaning station worth it?*In my experience - no. I own both the Series 5 and 7, and each has a cleaning station. While it does a good job, I didn't like the station's build quality and the fact that replacement cartridges can get expensive. In other words, it's a cash-grab. Basically, you put the shaver head-first into the cleaner. It'll charge while it cleans and will use the power of gravity to pulsate-out the hair to the bottom of the cleaning cartridge.Instead, I take a glass with soap, flip the shaver head-first, and dunk it into the water while it is running (don't do this if you have it plugged-in). The hair will naturally fall to the bottom of the glass and the blades will be clean - its the exact same concept as the cleaning station - albeit safer (not flammable) and less-expensive. Once it is dry, i'll put a little oil on it.*Value*I felt that this was a good deal for the $125 I paid for it.*Verdict*3/5 Stars - I have very mixed feelings on the Series 7. This is a nice product, but any nice product has to be backed by a great design and plentiful spare parts. While it offers a wonderfully-comfortable shave with customizable power options, I would definitely get the Series 9 over this. There's a reason that the newer 2012 Series 5's design was used for the 2015 Series 9, instead of the 2010 Series 7.The extremely-high prices for genuine Series 7 replacement blades, as well as the likelihood of the Series 7's locking head breaking with normal use make me hesitant to recommend this shaver. If the Series 7 is overkill for you, go for the Series 5. If you *must* get a Series 7, just fork-over some extra money for the Series 9. I've tried it and it is everything that the Series 7 should have been and more - no need for power levels, more durable, excellent locking head, more powerful, shaves faster - I could go on and on.

I have SCOURED internet looking for a trimmer like this, but nothing has matched the versatility it offers. I use the 18 mm comb for long areas of my beard, the normal protector for the sideburns, and the smaller protector and shaver for a clean and defined mustache. There is nothing in the market that has all these things in one package. Literally, I spent hours searching. But the only disadvantage of this is that around 8 months, the head begins to loosen and the accessory vibrates at strange angles and makes a lot of noise. I HAVE ESTABLISHED THIS !! Please, see the attached image. Simply take a 1 "x 2" adhesive tape and place it over the front edge. Make sure half of the product is inside the trimmer head space (use the end of the pliers to push it down) and the other half on the outside. You should repeat this 2-5 times, each time you add a cutting head and test if the problem was solved. He stopped rotating mine and dramatically softened the sound in 3 strips. All the trimmer needs is a little friction (provided by the adhesive tape) to repair its only defect. LONG LIVE THE 5100 MULTIGROOM!

I love the wireless function, but do not throw away your wahl with cable yet. I've been cutting my own hair to a length of 1/2 inch with the Wahl hairdresser and Wahl mustache trimmers for years, but I've been using the mower for so long, your guide finally wore off completely to where the blade would actually touch the skin and it would come too close. My dad has been a Norelco user since I can remember (floating head razor), so I felt comfortable with the quality of the Norelco brand and thought it would be a good way to replace two items at once, the shaver of Barber Wahl and the trimmer, and I honestly would be able to do it right, except for one thing. The Norelco does not have the "over the ear" guides at a conical angle (one for the left ear and one for the right ear). If I was not cutting my own hair, I could avoid using a comb to sharpen the edges, but that requires two hands, one of which in my case should be holding a mirror. That said, apart from the ears and around the neckline, he did an excellent job of cutting my hair. The most positive thing for me is the wireless function. Cutting my own hair can be a challenge, especially when I do the back of my head. I have a double crown of opposite swirls back there, which means that I have to attack the hair against the grain from all possible angles so that everything is cut to the same length. With a cable shaver, the cable is frequently interposed while trying to hold a hand mirror with one hand while maneuvering the razor with the other in concentric circles while the cable twists and hooks on the key and sink handles. None of that this time !! It was very liberating to be wireless and "shave" long out of my haircut. Another positive aspect compared to the Wahl was the adjustable height design for the guide teeth. You can adjust the guide at 1mm notched intervals by pressing the guide button and sliding the guide closer or further away from the blade. The only way to change sizes with Wahl was to remove one size guide and replace it with another. This also limited the amount of adjustments that could be made to the Wahl because there were not 13 different guides for each of the 1-13 mm configurations like the ones you get with the Norelco. This is a very nice feature of Norelco that allows a very specific cutting distance. With Wahl's choice of only 5 different tooth heights, he could only be "close enough for the work of the government." However, there is a small negative with respect to the design of these adjustable guides. The guides lift the blade away from the skin at a set distance with plastic teeth that form channels that guide the hair towards the blade. In anything other than the lowest notch configuration, there is a space between the bottom of the plastic guide teeth and the top of the metal sheet that allows the cut hair to pass between them. Instead of being swept by the blade during the cut (as if a snow shovel collected snow), the cut hair goes through the blade and the teeth and stays behind on the head for a little more messy cleaning. If the guide was designed to rest on the blade, the cut hair would be forced to follow the movement of my hand to be thrown into the wastebasket below me. So, periodically, while I cut my hair, I have to stop and remove my head to eliminate the cut hair that was lying there to see which hairs were stuck that needed another pass of the blade. To summarize, any small note The Norelco negatives are offset by the ability to easily cut the hair on the back of my head without wires. Highly recommended

8-Panasonic Milano All-in-One Trimmer

Panasonic Milano All-in-One Trimmer

Panasonic’s Milano is another trimmer that regularly receives positive customer reviews and one distinguishes itself from a part of the competition with its fully submersible wet/dry operation that you let it use in the shower or drain under the tap.

However, some reviews indicate that, although the lifetime of the battery is reasonable in itself, the charging time is considerably longer than some other trimmers (according to Panasonic this is 15 hours for a full charge).

What is the typical setting for trimming eyebrows to keep them tidy? I tried 4MM but was wondering what the consensus might be.

I keep mine to 3.5 mm. Works for me!

The information pamphlet included states how to dispose of the battery & alludes to a "battery replacement service" Can I purchase a new battery?

I just replaced the battery in mine. Look in "aa battery welding" for a suitable AA size NiMH battery with solder terminals. Someone with a # 1 slim Phillips screwdriver and a soldering iron can replace it quite easily (routing small wires is the only real challenge). I put a 2300mAh cell in mine and it works like new, better probably because the cell has much more capacity than the previous one.

I would say about three passes and you already have it. The guard is a tough plastic. I have had other shavers. I really like this one. It feels great in your hand.

Wonderful trimmer Great wet and dry cut and no more to match all the accessories. Very easy to pack too. Just keep in mind one thing when you're cutting, it has sharp edges in the guard

I bought this beard trimmer about a year and a half ago. I love the fact that I can take it in the shower and cut everything and then go back out and for any detailed work that may be necessary. I am a person who really likes that most of my toilet is done in the shower so that the hair disappears down the drain. I never had the battery exhausted before I finished trimming. General maintenance is easy and I cut my hair evenly. My only major problem with the product is that there are no additional accessories available to buy it. Recently I wanted to grow my beard for longer, but I want it to look good. Unfortunately, the provided beard comb only reaches 1 cm (or 10 mm). At 1 cm, it just does not provide enough length to keep a nice thick beard (1 cm actually is not very long). And that would be fine if Panasonic had some kind of additional beard combs available to increase the length of the beard cut. I would buy them in addition to the original trimmer. However, now I face the purchase of a completely new trimmer with more accessories to get the molding I want, although the product still works well.

I had a Panasonic that my son gave me for Christmas about 6 years ago. He was quite good and did his job well. I was a little clumsy with all the attachments, but I got used to it until it finally faded away. This Milano is a true step forward of that. Easy to use, silent, tactile, easy to clean, excellent cutting ability with my very fine hair and looks really good just hanging in the bathroom. I have seen some videos and they can not equally represent the hands in use and the length marking capacity of this small machine. Actually I'm using this more than the previous one because of that. Good product!

Questions & Answers

Does this item come with a charging stand and organizer for all the attachments? The older PG6020B model does, but what about this model????

Without load support, only one charging cable. It keeps the load well, so it does not require constant load. It comes with a bag that contains the unit and accessories.

How close a shave does the main head get? i have an old pg250 that is almost as close as a razor. everything else i've tried leaves a 5oclock shadow.

You will not have as much shaving as a razor with this. You'll see yourself with this two-day shave.

Does it come with a battery and a recharger?

It comes with a DC charger. It works very well and with a full charge it stays ready to work for weeks. The accessories are great, but the combs sometimes slip and give you a more tight cut than you wanted.

Can you use this on your most sensitive parts?

The empty trimmers are probably good enough for that, although like any trimmer, you should be a little careful. The combs, however, are quite irritating. I have been using the longer comb, and the plastic is molded in such a way that the two pieces of the mold are just in front of the comb, forming a very sharp lip in the worst place. I'm going to cut and / or sand that edge before using it again on sensitive skin.

I bought this almost exactly a year ago. I am a woman, and I use it to trim my cooter until it reaches a manageable fluff before I shave. Mrs. Why has not anyone told me about this? If you are considering buying an electric razor over there, DO IT. I only paid $ 15 and it's still going strong. No more shaving burns. No more fancy $ 30 razor blades. Reduce the time and effort of reducing by more than half. What used to take me around thirty minutes, now only takes five or less. I can not recommend this enough.

This is really the best cutter I have bought ... the price is absolutely unbeatable ... I see why this article is an Amazon best seller and, therefore, highly revised ... I bought many trimmers along the years (and most of them have been all-in-one kits and have varied in performance ... I mainly use the trimmer to buzz my head and my face / neck up to about 1 mm (standard military cut for those parts of the year in that I do not shave my head with a triple-blade blade ... the wife likes it when I let my head resemble a velcro) ... even if this product only gives you one year of use, it would still be a great buy, but I imagine that this product will last many years if it is properly maintained from the beginning ... a true winner

This is not a rugged razor, so if you are looking for a completely metallic unit, look elsewhere. It feels very light in your hand. That said, this thing is great! I loaded it for about 15 minutes out of the box and shaved around my beard several times without losing energy. I love the shape of the head when shaving with the cutter, different from the traditional style, but this is more effective for molding a beard line. I have not used all the accessories, but the razor and the razor work very well! In general, this thing is awesome. While it lasts more or less a year, it will be worth it. Honestly, I can not believe that people spend more than $ 75 on these things when there is simply no reason to do so.

I am online buying another of these for my husband. We bought this exact model for $ 17 two years ago (2016) and he just sent me a text message today saying he is not charging anymore. This thing has been USED! I use it to trim my hair, my husband uses it only to cut his hair, we both cut our noses (yes, hahaha) regularly with him. It has been incredible. It cuts well and, until now, has never had a problem with power or performance. We travel a LOT and it is small enough for you to put it in your toilet kit and take it wherever you go. So without hesitation, again online and I'm ordering another one for this year's Christmas present. Hahaha. Two years, thirteen countries and innumerable uses for $ 17. Clearly, I would buy this again in the blink of an eye.

What else do you need in your care set?

Dedicated beard trimmers are probably the best choice for treating specific facial hair, as they usually offer finer cutting lengths.

They are also designed to create the pure, straight lines that you need to properly style your facial hair and sideburns.

However, if you want even more versatility, many hair clippers, which we discuss in a separate report, are often provided with blades for detailing or trimming sideburns and beards, and you will naturally need an electric shaver or shaver if you decide the beard to dump.

After evaluating these raids, we have perforated thousands and thousands of user reviews posted on retail websites such as Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and BestBuy.com to find the best trim tools for every beard style.

Final Works

Body hair is closely related to your image and to a certain extent reflects your personality.

But maintaining the shape and appearance of your beard is more than just pretension. And before you even consider a beard trimmer, you must determine the most important reason (s).

Is it for perfecting the 5-hour shade or transforming it into a real Rick Grimes? Skin retention? Manscaping? Every man should know the importance of trimming facial hair because although most benefits are complementary to a person’s appearance, the obstacles can ruin a person’s image. Examples:

  • Facial hair is prone to creating scaly skin and can make it more visible, sticking to your beard over time
  • More hair = more skin irritation
  • Microbiologists determined in tests with beards – contained many normal bacteria, but some were similar to toilets – the skin under the beard can build up oil and lead to acne, along with other skin conditions
